2000 ZL 600 Carb pipe problems

My expansion pipe keeps on cracking all over and i just keep on welding it. It cracks horizontally and vertically from the side next to the Y pipe and the side on the resonator even in the middle. I want to buy a new pipe but I'm not sure if it will just crack like the old one.

I have heard many theories why my pipe is cracking.
Cluctch weights out of whack
too much back pressure when the packing gets wadded up

Anybody have the same problem or know for a fact why its

All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Devin

has the sled been in a wreck?? meaning maybe had some damage from before?? how about a cracked engine mount, that shifts weight, and puts stress on other parts,,, or, maybe just got a poorly welded pipe from cat..... I have never had ANY exhaust problems with any of my cats in the past.. and they are ususally just held in with 3 or 4 springs up by the header, 1 or 2 long springs that hold it to the sled buldhead, and 2 or 3 short springs that hold it to the muffler,,, unless your sled has some huge Backfire issues,, don't know what else to suggest...

current sled,09 Crossfire-R 1000 02 ZL 800 ss, past, 99 zrt-800, 97 ext-600, 97 zr-440, 92 wildcat, 95 xcr-440, 84 ss440, 81 el tigre 6000, 86 cougar, 80 scorpion tk, 75 scorpion super stinger, (lol) 74 wankel panther!
