I have a 98 xcr 440 and every 20 or 30 miles my headlight goes real bright and burns out. On low and high. All of my other lights are just fine. They don't dim or get brighter at all. Just the headlight. It is obviously getting to many volts, cause it usually has a hole in it. If it is overcharging why don't the other lights get affected? Can you guys help me out? Even at $7.00 each it is getting expensive. Thanx.

I would check your voltage regulater, also check your headlight wiring harness for a chafed or shorted wire.

Sounds like a funky voltage regulator. They are $75 at the parts store. There's a guy on eBay that sells them for $15
