The light coil powers the accessories. You can have that coil fail and the engine will still run.

Thanx for the reply BCDan. Thats what I thought and now im thinking the CDI box the I replaced mine with is also bad.

That's why you try yours on a working sled. Sometimes it's the sled causing the problem in the CDI . It's possible to take a working CDI and put it in a problem sled and fry a good CDI. That can get expensive!

I dont know anyone with a sled compatible. I pulled the flywheel off my sled to check wiring and everything looks good no rub, bare or pinched wires and everything ohmes right where its supposed to so now I need to come up with another CDI.
