Im getting ready to fog the engine on my 7c REV and it looks like the airbox would come off easier with the secondary off, is this what you guys are doing or what?

A bad day`s riding is better then a good day at work !!

To ride fast you have to REV it.

I remove the secondary. I will try it with out taking it off. Hardest part is removing the tool holder.

03 800 rev.

Flops right out without removing the secondary,Removing the took kit box is harder than removing the airbox...lol . Like was said a nice long phillips is almost a must.

I'll second that. The airbox comes right out without removing the secondary. I know because I just took it out (on a '03 600) to do a good job reinstalling it after it was popping off while riding. I pulled the air box out (without removing the secondary), cleaned off the carbs with brake cleaner, cleaned off the air box seals with brake cleaner, then rubbed them down with belt dressing spray. Reinstalled the airbox and tightened the screws with a long phillips screwdriver. No problems all weekend. The airbox is on solid.

I agree with Andy. no need to pull the Secondary. I havve been doing this on my 1999 every year without removing the secondary and on the 2000 Summit. Can doo on the 2003 also...
