My SRX runs great, but the previous owner said it is hard on gas. ive been reading that its supposed to be pretty good on gas. how far should one of these sleds go on a full tank of gas? its a 12 galon tank ( 40 litres) approx. what causes the sled to consume more gas? Thanks alot

My right thumb !! That sled amazed me on how good gas mileage it got . Depending on your thumb I would guess 10 + mpg. Depending on the last owner and your skill level I would take the carbs off and bring them to the dealer and have them gone through . They will sync them replace old jets and clean them for ya. Then when you put them back on make sure you give the choke cable enough slack so you dont run into other problems. New set of plugs , not the br9es . And she should purrr.

I get just over 16 mpg when I am "just" trail riding. Thats going between 30-50 mph and NOT nailing the throttle coming out of the turns.
My sled is mostly stock. It has a bender can, stock jets and a different spring and helix on the secondary.
It gets better gas milage then my wifes 700 XTC deluxe.

I've got a 2000 700 v max and a 2000 700 sxr they both get about 230km before I start looking for fuel. I like to ride at about 70 mph everywhere I go! I do the carbs myself so take that for what it's worth
