My buddie had the shock on his 2001 500xc rebuilt last week, The guy that worked on his sled pulled the skid out to remove it. When he put it back together he mounted it in the brackets on the bottom of the running boards(rear of the skid). Told him that it would give him two inches of extra clearance. Now heres the problem When he hits any kind of bump the suspension sticks in the compresed position also he noticed that his temprature warning light comes on when going slow. I think that he should put the thing back in the stock location ,What do you guys think.

I had my suspension mounted on the lower bracket (same way of your buds sled)on both my 91 Indy 500s and never had over heating, but that was my sleds :)

When the suspension is compressed it stays that way???

If so the shock is shot, and the guy did a #### poor job on rebuild :sly:

BTW there was no 91 Indy 500 XC must be talking about the 91 Indy 500 SP(SnowPro) :sly:

Bring back to dealer and have him fix properly. Most likely something is not set right and is causing the suspension to hang up. :)

Talked to the dealer today said that The way the suspension was reinstalled was incorrect, we put the thing back to stock and that seems to have fixed the problem. Thats what my buddie gets for trying to take the cheap way out. The guy that worked on it is some guy who works out of his garage, nice guy just not sure he knows what he is always doing.
