I had read in here that many people were having problems with the guages fogging up, so when my speedo began doing it on the second or third ride, I was not too surprised. When I pulled it out of the basement last night and fired it up, I noticed that the trip was reading .0, even though I did not reset it. There should have been reading about 35 miles. While riding the trip did not work at all, it just stayed at the .0.
Now for the good part! We stopped for a while and when I started it, it displayed 'SCALE' in the trip display. When I hit the reset button, it looks like a CD player searching for a CD! While it is doing the searching thing or displaying 'SCALE', the speedo and tach do not work at all. For the next hour of riding nothing do to with the speedo or tach worked. At some point everything came back and worked okay. What the hell is happening. I have heard that some people are having voltage regulators burning up. Could this be the beginning? Thanks for any input.

I heard a rumor Bombi is going to publicly address the speedo, tach and fuel gauges some time next month.
I have also had problems with my odometer on my rev also.
I put about 60 miles on it but the odometer only read 3 miles, and the trip meter read 23 miles I can reset it back to zero but when I shut off the machine and restart it the trip meter reads 23 miles again and the odometer still reads 3 miles. Though the spedo and tach seem to work fine.
The machine runs great, so I wasn't extremely concerned about it, but being that the gas gauge isn’t worth beans it would be nice to know how far I've ridden.
Well it's at the dealer now so we will see what happens.
If we ever get some snow I'm going to ride it anyway :)

I agree 100%, this is not going to keep me from riding. But like you said, it is nice ot know how far you have gone, how fast you are going and what your rpms are! I don't think that is too much to ask!! Other than that, I really like it.

Anyone else had anything like this happen? I was told today that if you hold the reset button on the speedo while starting the sled the samething that I eplained happens. How they figured that out, I don't know! I am going to look tonight to see if it is possible that my reset button is sticking.

LOL. I put 1000km and got the speedo replaced. Started again at 0. However my new one is fogging again. So ill be down to zero.
If your ever in the market for a used 2003 REV dont trust the milage.
I think skidoo is going to have to seal up the gauges and maybe gas charge them. There will be somthing done about this.

Fogging gauges was also one of my issues when i took my sled in last Thursday to be checked out. Naturally when the dealer had it and took it at for a couple runs no fogging was noticeable. I got the seld back ripped it around a few times an hour ago and did not notice anything either. The dealer had ordered new gauges and said he would replace them next time I bring the sled in after my trip this weekend. Sounds like I should wait until Doo comes out with the offical fix before worrying about it. I did not notice any problems with the trip meter and will have to try that out this weekend. I guess we will all wait and see. My sled is 03 Adrenaline...
I got my REV back from the dealer today, of course he said he couldn't find any thing wrong. He aperanly put about 3 miles on it in the field behind the shop and said it seemd to be working fine. He said he called Ski-doo who claimed they knew of know problems with the odometer.
They said ride it some more and if I still have problems bring it back in and they will replace the gagues.
Fine with me looks like SNOW is on the way! woohoo!

Aren't digital gauges great? :sly: How do the Yami gauges work in the sub zero F temps? Like Machzzzz1 says you won't be able to trust the odometer on a REV. But then again what's to stop a sledder from disconnecting the cable on a conventional speedo?
I was talking to one of the guys @ Giesler's Marine in '97 when the MPEM was first coming out ('doo dealer in Powassan Ont.) & he said w/ the scan tool they can bring up the hours on a sled.
I don't know if miles/kms is available now w/ the electronic speedo sender on the drive axle. I'll ask Friday when I stop @ the dealer.
Mind you this would only be good to you if you were looking at a used sled at a 'doo dealer. You could ask them to bring up the readings before deciding on the sled.
Finally, does the signal from the drive axle affect any ignition timing parameters? I was just wondering if the MPEM would go into a "limp home" mode if the sender was disconnected & the MPEM saw this as a fault? Same as a misattached DESS cord. This might be a deterrent to people disconnecting the speedo.
