Does anybody know how to disconnect the safety switch and still have a kill switch? 2000 T-Cat

I have heard somewhere that there is fix for the bushings on the throttle lever, does this fix the problem?

Thanks for any help

If your having a problem with the switch on the throttle it can usually be cured by replacing the plastic cups and adding a little dialectric grease along with adjusting the cable slack.
Worked for me every time.

I have adjusted cable slack already and no help. The safety switch sometimes activates at steady 1/4 throttle just out of the blue! It really bugs me, first time it happened I thought I blew the motor! Sometimes it even backfires. I don't know for sure but once in the past I had a large backfire on a 700 efi and 50 miles later one one side went down from piston ring locating pin pushed in, seemed awfully coincidental. ???

I will try dismantling and look for these "cups", I don't see them on the fische

I checked on brown's it shows the part # as 1609-038/seal. If you go to the site and have a look under handle bars/controls you'll see it. They can be a PITA to install without breaking but nothing you can't overcome.

Save yourself the headache & disable the safety switch, once they start having problems they never seem to work right, Although i cant remember the colors YOU CAN disable them & still have a kill, you do it at the kill sw. harness at the bars, unplug it & jump across to re -connect the kill wire.when you have it wired right everything will work normal .
