it seems that the K&Ns have a few different filters and the kickass ones seem to be pretty good but I was wondering waht the racers use. I have a 96 FIII 600 with a aftermarket silencer and I plan on putting a thicker base gasket in and shaving the head. I usually run the sled on the lake so i would call it just a high performance lake runner. Thanx guys.

I had a 96 F III with the crankshop shim kit and the heads cut...you should also get you exhaust sockets cut out(cut the rim that is inside the socket out with a dremmel tool)I'd go with the kickass filters but watch your jetting.I ran 24/44gear ratio for 660feet...the Mach Z boys used to hate to see me coming... LoL

How thick was the base gasket that you used and how much did you have the head shaved? I will be using premium pump gas and not race fuel so I need to watch the Compression. Thanx
