I have learned something today.
At the end of last year I swapped my flex skiis for percisions and just reused to old nuts and bolts.
Well today I lost a ski going down the trail. NOT FUN, pretty scary really. Luckily no damage to sled or rider and I found my ski and the rubber deal. $9 later and shes like new.
I bought a new nut for the other ski too!

It's beyond me why ski-doo does not use a cotter pin in the bolt like A/C does.Glad to hear you were not injured.
MXZonly: I just a flashback with your post, back in the seventies I had a bolt fall out of a TN,T leaf spring, The ski turned sidways, and the rest is history. That taught me a lesson on lock washers, lock nuts, cotter pins and loc-tite. Dino

It has made me wonder many times why Sleds don't "Safety Wire" critical bolts like aviation does. Mine will eventually be.
Thanks for the tip!!!! :0:
