Rode in Yellowstone area last week and noticed tach had quit. Didn't notice until later that all electrical things except ignition were also dead. No lights,handwarmers,or tach. Yellowstone dealer checked it out and said voltage regulator was fine, but stator was bad. They didn't have one in stock so I rode the last day with a flashlight taped into the headlight housing. Could this really be a bad stator and still have ignition? Maybe a pinched or broken wire ? Thanks for any help with this before I buy a $246.00 stator.

i just went through the exact same thing about a month ago. *i was in canada coming back from a ride and everything quit except for the ignition coil. *it turned out to be the stator but luckily for you, yours wasnt on back order for three weeks. *ive put on over 300 miles since and is running fine. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Thanks for the reply.Think I'll fix it this summer. No snow to ride on ,so why spend the money now.
