Hi All,
As some of you may know, I have been having some trouble with my Mach Z. *For those of you who don't know, basically I have been fouling a lot of plugs (mainly in the center cylinder), and there was a bit of a skip when going over bumps and sharp corners.
Anyway, I took it to the shop and they were able to fix the skipping problem 100% (although I haven't ridden it yet to see). *They said it was caused by a bunch of bare wires underneath the motor (see my post "What do you think is wrong" for more info on this). *
The problem is that it didn't solve the spark plug fouling problem. *It appeared to at first, but they took it out later on yesterday and blew two plugs in the center cylinder. *Anyway, the shop owner talked to another guy that had a Mach and he said that he runs BR8ES plugs in the center cylinder. *He also talked to a mechanic from Al's Snowmobile Parts Warehouse (some of you may recognize that place), and that guy also said to run an "8" in the center cylinder.
So he put a new BR8ES plug in the center and they took it for a ride. *They put on 60 miles with that plug and it never fouled.
I have heard a lot of people say not to change the heat range of the plug that you are using....what do you think about this case? *
Also, I should point out that the temperature yesterday was in the mid 40's. *Maybe that had something to do with it also.
Thanks for the help.
