Just read the piece from the NY couple who had terrrible time in Quebec. We've planned a trip to Mont Laurier for beg. March. Should we be concerned? Has anyone had good experience? We've never been before, have just done very short runs here in southern Ontario (before sinkage), any tips or advise? (we will be travelling on a two up, wife will be on the back, if we get the thing back from the dealership). We picked up brochures from the snowmobile show in TO, and it looks fantastic.

Very nice area to ride, problems like they had are not very common. Don't sell Ontario short on great places to ride and it won't cost you a second trail permit.
Next month I'm doing a trip around Algonquin Park with a group of five others best part is I'll still be close to home and the trail signs will be in a language I almost know. LOL

Enjoy your ride.

Rick.

Algonquin park is definately a place we will be dooing the season also, that trip is not planned as firmly yet as Quebec, but is definately there. Wife will try to doo the Snow Run for fun in Bala, this is her first year riding.

hiya McCracken - I have ridden the mont laurier area and it is very good - good trails, well maintained, well signed. And the people there appreciate the dollars you are bringing into their area. The only downside is the traffic on weekends - can't swing a dead cat by the tail without whacking another sled on El Diablo - but once you make the top, it is awesome. If you stop at the mountain-top cabin, ask the owner to do his trick with the cigarette - it is bizarre and very entertaining.

For the record, I read that letter from the people that had a bad trip in Quebec. I have ridden there a fair bit and can honestly say that their experience is, by far, the exception rather than the norm. I have had many pleasant experiences riding there and will have many more.

Evidently, someone p'd in that cop's corn flakes.

Don't let one person's experience ruin spoil a whole province - it is great riding in Quebec!Have a great trip!
