my handwarmers dont work anymore, but my thumb warmer works.
i have a 99 zl500efi with 1000 miles.
what can i check? are there fuses?
the sled has never been messed with, so i dont know what it could be.
it might be my imagination, but it seems the lights dim a little more than usual at idle. i dont know if this has anything to do with it.
any ideas?

mine was the opposite the thumb warmer didn't work but the grips did. all i did was replace the heating pad in the thumb warmer. they are just a big resistor that generates heat. easy to replace.

My handwarmers didn't work on the first ride of the season so I pulled my handlebar pad off and found a mouse had made a hotel in there and had used the grip wires as dental floss. A little soldering and I had heat again. It might be where you want to check first if your sled sat on an open trailer or on the ground.
