i have allways used MOBIL1 syn.gear oil and have great luck. it flows down to -50. plus its cheaper than dealers stuff. i dont know about yamahas bearings but on ski-doos the bearings in the chain case are sealed and all you are doing is lubricating the chain and the gear oil works great for that
