Just thought I would share a few pictures from my ride yesterday. It was one of those epic days, below zero in the flats, 20 above in the mountains. RIDE SAFE

Also, why is it that when I post 1 pic, it stays small, after I post a second pic it comes up full size. RIDE SAFE

OMOTM, I'm more jealous of you then anyone on this sight!! You post these pics after every ride!! I have never been to snow that looks so great in my whole life!! And its something you can do whenever you want!!! I gotta move up to Alaska!!!

Well, thanks I think. LOL I was raised in the south and wanted to move to Alaska all my youth. I finally did in 1977, no regrets. I love this big country year around. RIDE SAFE

those are not pics from Alaska .. they are pics from heaven WE have lots of snow here on the east coast of Newfoundland but no places to ride that come close to that . only in my dreams do I ride in places like that. OMOTM you are a lucky Man..

Bill once again top notch photos. :) Man i am getting sweaty palms just looking at those pics. Is that a weather phenomon? Warmer in the higher altitudes. Must be nice for the highmarkers. Do you have to trailer at all or doo you ride from your door? As for posting multiple pics at once, I think Adobe photoshop would be your best bet. I am gonna look into it and get back to you today.

permafrost, I do trailer 1 hour 15 minutes. Although I can ride from my front yard, I prefer that side of the mountains as my side gets wind blown. Cold air sinks to the low spots, I have left my home at 40 below zero, arrived at parking area to 25 below (3100ft), started climbing up to find 25 above at 5000 ft. RIDE SAFE

Where are you at in Alaska? Near any big cities with jobs available? lol! Is there every much traffic where you ride?? In the pics it looks like the only tracks around are yours.

SD, the nearest big city is Fairbanks, 100 miles north. We saw about 8 other riders that day, in I don't know how many square miles. Most do not know the area well enough to get around to the sweet spots, they actually just follow the main trail for the most part. LOL I work for Space and Missle Defense Command at Ft Greely Ak. You might want to check for related sites as they are in a huge build up right now.

Need any CAD operators?? My wifes a teacher??? Will that help???? God... I trailer an hour to crappy over run trails... I like your play ground better!

Bill thats all fine and dandy but what happens when the snow melts? How is the BUGS situation there? Doo you have black flies and mosquitoes? Im just curious cause the snow is wonderful there :) :) :D

LadyK, yes we have mosquitos, they are known as the state bird here. Here is a picture of the same area this last fall. RIDE SAFE

Hey OMOTM..the only way you can post multiple pics in the same post I think is to create a "giant" pic from all of them....that is, combine them somehow to be on the same file, but of course, the resolution is limited by the forum software, so you are better off posting them one at a time. Did that make any sense? :sarcasm: Oh..and BTW..those are some great pics man...one day I'll be up there..gotta be some work for a biologist fresh out of school... :D

OMOTM, I see your back from Vacation and enjoying the wonderfull snow at Summit!! Haven't been in two weekends, but hope to get down there soon. LoL at following the trails, to guess how much area there is too play in would be unimaginable. The last ride I was there we came off the backside of the ######, headed North past Courage? and found that hole area back there untouched!!! Blue bird day and a good few feet of untouched snow, I love Summit!!!!!!! What's your big plans for Artic Man if you don't mind me asking......Newman is still trying to con me into entering, with him pulling me on a snowboard.....still in the air!

:D Those are wicked pics man. Keep them coming, it even puts the mountain riding we do to shame. We are riding but in half the snow as usual. Did you guys get a lite snow load this year (not that it looks like it), and alaska is definetly a trip for us next year...............

Great Pics how is the snow over that way now? Here we have nothing left at all, it is depressing to watch it rain in Febuary. Wanting to go play but need to find a good place to go.

What blows me away looking at your pics OMOTM is there isn't any trees!! You know how many trees I have to dodge all the time.

My guess would be, because I live in Snowmobiler Heaven and try to enjoy it as much as possible. RIDE SAFE

THis is about as clsoe to heaven as you can get to around here untracked powder for as far as the eye can see
