Hey all!
The swede is back again ;) I would like to apologize for my lack of presence, but I've been kinda busy lately and modem speeds don't make the surfing a lot more enjoyable either :( And reading everyone talking about sleds when you dont have one yourself is no good either :)
Anyway! I bought myself a new sled.. Haha well sled is a big word. But it moves my ### around anyway.
It's nothing like the Mach Z, but I bought *drum roll* a Skidoo Alpine! I'm not sure about which year it is from, but I'm guessing beginning of the 70s :) Right now a 440 motor in it, but thats gonna be exchanged for a 640 asap ;) Best of all, it's as yellow as it could be.
I'll post a pic later :)
Just wanted to say hi again!

Welcome back Nico, just remember, if it gets you around it's as good as gold. :D or yellow. he he :p
Here's that pic.. This one isn't mine, but at least you can see what it looks like.
Mine must be a from different year because there's quite a lot of small differences between mine and this one. Also mine is in much better condition. The yellow on mine is actually yellow and has had a lot of new parts (windshield, lamps, motor renovated etc) about 7 years ago and after that it has been standing still until now :)
Replace has had with has gotten or something. It still has the new parts ;) Although they technically aren't that new any more. But they've never been used anyway =)

Cool sled, as long as it moves. You should be able to anywhere with that one.
The guy that's helping me rebuild my engine, as plans for an old alpine. He planning on putting a engine from a Gm Sprint car (1.0 L) into it!! :D This guy know's what he's doing and he will make it work. I can't wait to see it!!!

It's a 640 not 670 :)
I don't know how new this engine is, I don't know anything about it at all actually. But I called a friend and told him I bought a sled and told him my buddies were teasing me for having the smallest engine. And then he came up with that 640 that a friend of his has laying around in his garage..
These things were originally sold with a 440 or 640 engine afaik, but I'm hoping for a somewhat newer engine actually ;) But it'll be better than 440 anyway hehe.. And then I'll have the biggest engine ;)

Welcome back Nico. So far had a good season. Heading for northern Ontario for our annual Blastoff. 6 days of riding.
About your sled, post the model & serial number from the tunnel tag. There should be a date of manufacture stamped on it. Add a year to the date & that's the model year.
I'll post it tomorrow.. The sled is at a friend of mine right now..
I technically didn't buy it yet, didn't sign any papers yet. On monday I'll go and pay and I'll get the papers too. Then I'll know which model year it has I guess, or which year it was put in "traffic" anyway.
That's good to hear that you're having a good season.. My season basically sucked so far ;) As you know I sold my sled as soon as we got some snow here, and after that I've been without sled until a couple of days ago. Now we have over half a meter of snow on most places so I just couldn't live without a sled any more and went looking.. Cash problems are still not over tho, but it's getting better so I could actually afford to buy a cheap sled like this one :) I've been riding a friend's Bearcat 550 a bit but that really wasn't much to get excited about after a Mach Z ;)
Not that this Alpine is that impressive, but at least it's my own and it's yellow! :)
