I want your honest personal views on the F5 and F7 Firecat. I am planning on getting one next year and what your honest opinions on everything. A friend of mine has a F5 and he thinks it is great. The only problem so far is the power valves cable let go up in the woods. He still drove it out but could only get 85 mph.

Thanks to all those who participate.

Well I just got back from a 130mile ride today to make it a grand total of 750miles not real back for a month i think but anyway. The more I ride this sled the more I like it. Suspension is great. Nice handling its not that much lighter then my zr was but feels alot lighter and the power is amazing. Hookup is really good we were out playing in the hills today and i could out do the rest of them. The 2 zrs one 500 one 600 both with 1 3/8 121s would come close but not quite.

My friend owns a 1999 ZR 700, and was considering buying a 2003 f7, until race day. He entered his ZR 700 in stock class and took second to a super picked XC600. There were about six f7's, and NONE made it to the finals this sunday. My friend was very happy that he didn't buy one. My friend feels it is a YUGO wanting to be a CORVETTE! So much for the f7. maybe they ought to bring back the ZR! :blahblah:

I ride with both. the 5 is slower than I thought it would be, 2 of the 7's blew up (2 didn't) 1 after 400 miles and dealer bled the system on both sleds right. I would get the f-6 next yr.

Your friend must have the best one made!!Cause they didn`t work
like the old 94-95 700 .The newer 700`s were good trail sleds NOT
RACE sleds so want ever your smoking share it with the boy`s.
The 7`s here rock as they do else were.Just my .02 cents...ordering
a new 7 in the spring ............P.S. if there that slow check ice results
M.S.R.A. last weekend in Grand Falls in New Brunswick............
Cape Breton Stock........................Wish that 700 was closer so I could
Kicks it ### with 711.................

The f-5 has a bad pipe and is barely as fast as the zr500s. The F7 screams and there is no 600 that will touch one unless the owner has screwed it up.

:0: Got my butt kicked by an F7 during our grass drags-I was on a modified WIldcat 700 (1992)-his was extremely fast!

Test drove an F5 last week-nice, comfortable, great suspension but didn't seem terribly fast. My money will be on an F6 or an F7 this spring.

Well I guess all the f7's my friend ZR700 raced must be pooches. He has encountered them at our local lake as well as the race he ran this past Sun. Could he own the quickest production 700sp AC ever built, or is the f7 plagued by the same gremlins that he experienced when he received his ZR from his local dealer. After altering the uneducated setup,(clutching + jetting) that came with his sled from the factory. He can hold his own in the 1/4 mile. A lake racer, it isn't. The f7's he has ran against were all suprised by his ability to defeat them. After all, Daryll asked for an HONEST opinion, and my friend ZR, bleeds GREEN, and will probably buy another AC inthe future. Here in SE Wisconsin, the Haydays ads (quickest production sled) are a misnomer at best. Is it posible that the Haydays sleds were factory race sleds, far different than the production models everyone received . The jury is still out on that, only time will tell. All of the sled manufacturers have experienced trouble with thier first run models. Some more than others. Good Luck on your choice Daryll, TINK.
