Any suggestions? I have a 2000 MXZ600 and while riding last night the lights all went out. Didn't get bright first or anything. I also noticed for the past while my taillight was dim until about 3000 - 3500 RPM and now this. My first thought would be the stator but I hope not. Anyone else have suggestions berfore it goes to dealer??

Did you check all the wiring and fuses?

Going to give her a good once over tonight. If I can't see it, away to the dealer it goes.

Smart move..Sometimes that is the best way. Saves a lot of hair pulling and guess work. Check the obvious first though...Fuses, ground wire broke, etc.

This machine does not have electric start. I'm not sure if there will be a fuse even.

Hate to say it, but I just went through this and the Stator was gone on my sled. Same symptoms...lights, handwarmers, tach, elec. start...all died instantly. It's been 4 weeks and I'm finally picking her up this weekend.

Hope your luck is better than mine!

check for broken wires on the stator, I have a 2000 600 and had the same problem. I took the stator out and checked the wires and found a broken one, I soldered it back together and also put an inline fuse in the wire just before it plugs into the voltage regulator in case there was a short causing it to short the wire out and break. Pull it apart and check it saved me $280cdn.
