Same machines same plugs br9ces at $10 a pop this getting expensive. switch plugs and away go. Any ideas? ???

Could be a bad plug wire cap and not fireing all the time..my .02 cents worth. ;)

FYI, you can run those fouled plugs through the dishwasher and they will come back to life.

I got one better that that but do not let your wife see you. Unless she rides a sled to. If you have a self cleaning oven it works great and they look like new plugs..

Buy a set of Champion 8902 Powersport plugs and you shouldn't foul anymore, these plugs are awsome.

Heh heh... I never thought of that... thanks for the tip. My oven predates self cleaners... but I know a few friends with the feature. Surely they won't mind me baking a batch of NKG's.

(me thinks the microwave would not be a good option)

Hard to beat your motor was designed for BR9ES the ECS plugs are an afterthought and foul like mad. Always causing me grief. Change over to standard BR9ES and dont look back. Let me know if this works for ya. BTW I get a box of ten BR9ES for 18 CAD so there is no way i would even consider reusing one unless i was trapped in the bush. Just M3C

Perm--Could you please explain what you mean when you say the ECS was an afterthought. I would much prefer to run the ES because of cost as well.

my 670 ho was fouling the br9es plugs like mad. I switched to the br9eya's. thier only slightly more expensive than the br9es's, but ihaven't fouled a set yet. that was 600 kms ago. Seems to be working for me.

What i mean by afterthought is that when they designed the series 3 motors they were designed for BR9ES plugs. The ESC plug was brought into the picture later and all they seem to doo is foul for us. The ESC plug is an anti detonation plug it is designed to bring the heat up and out of your engine where as the standard BR9ES just sends the heat back into the block. For some reason they are very prone to fouling . They might work better on other brands but from what i have seen. They suck on series 3 doos. IT is sortalikewhen i had my tripples they had the BR10ES in them and it would always foul. I changed down to the BR9ES and the fouling was no more.

Gotcha. Thanks.

BTW, how likely is it that my stator is going bad if I kept dropping the mag cylinder last weekend. I did just put in the 942 adjustable needles but it ran fine for 10 miles or so before I went to the U.P. Then once there, if I let it idle or ran the mid-range it seemed to stumble and then foul the plug. WFO it ripped and didn't have problems.

I have the 942s in the third slot down with washer underneath so it is possible I am too rich and just flooded the plug with fuel. The plug looked wet on removal, but not sure if because of jetting or losing spark.

I plan on putting the stock needles back in to see if it happens again but the sled is at the cabin, 200 miles north, so I am just trying to cover all possible bases before digging in.

I also have a decent amount of black dust on the plug caps. Is this indicative of any problem? Will di-electric grease help this?

Thanks.

REnegade 700 when the stator goes it is like someone turning the light switch off.AS far as the needles I cant help ya there, sorry. :( As SDrenegade800 suggested put a piece of plit hosing around the plug wire that rubs under the hood

Had the same problems on my 600ho with those plugs. Everytime my wife would ride the rev they would foul. I have been running br9es with no problems.
