Another shot of DP he did fair better than the Polaris tho . The XC got way to much air and landed down in the gads. With a smashed windshield and knee. His day was done

Sweet pics Perm. Who was on the Poo...SW member? Is he OK other than the knee? Must have been bad if it ended his day.

BTW, how did you guys like the REV??

DanR

I was the one that rode the REV most of the time and i goto say, i was pretty impressed ! Good trail sled, dont fell the bumps at all but if you go off trail :( Its not made for deep snow ???

I have to be honest with you guys, i loved the rev up until ladyk let me give a squezze on the GADE ! when i got back on the REV i was disapointed, it just didint feel as good as the GADE. That has to be the best sled i have ever rode, maybe i will get to ride jeff's 03 today :D

Well we all had a great ride :D :D Lots of fun and not too many injuries. Farmer was here today and he is still limping around :( Hopefully his knee heals quickly :0: Dont think he is gonna buy a new windshield tho, this is the second this year :p

I am a little sore today from doubling for 4hrs with Dan on my gade :0: :0: But we all had a great time. :D :D

Thanx to DP and CrazyB & Eddie for the supply of the video equipment :p :) We sure got some funny footage :p

Question for DanR. What exactly is the problem with the REV in deep snow? Clutching, snow packing in the tunnel, trenching, nose diving, etc.? I'm heading out West next week and will be playing in deep snow and mountains. If there's any heads up on setup that I can doo before I leave, it would be appreciated. How does it compare with a short track ZX chassis since I've rode those out West before with reasonable success.

Im surprised to hear that too! Doesnt Ski-doo have a long track mid season release Rev? Maybe a Rev Summit? Ill bet thats a nice machine too.
Isnt the track on the Rev skinnier?
I would love it if you guys would be a little more specific with the reason the Rev wasnt good in the fluff.
Ill be in Timmons later this week and plan on ridding one. My buddy Guy loves his.
I hope the snow stays fluffy till i get there.
D.D.

REV tracks are a standard 15" x 121". Mine is the 1" lug and I use the Camo. 9811 for grass drags. Deep snow has alot to do with rider ability and I've gone places that less experienced riders with 1.5" lug tracks have gotten stuck trying to follow me. Granted a long track with 2" lugs will go places I can't go, you can still make an inexperienced rider look bad. :p

Front belly pan does not provide enough flotation. as a result its handles poorly and gets stuck easy.

nice pics guys, wish i could have been there also :p hopefully i can get back to some powder on tues or wed...

doopilot

Thanks LadyK, sounds like it's submarining or nose diving. I normally set up to keep the front end light and rely on the skis and track for flotation. Ditchbanging out here in 3-4 ft. loose snow, the front end is fine but the back tends to trench easy. I'm thinking that I'll need to tie up the snow flap so it can clean out easier. If DanR hasn't tried this, front shocks set at #4 and the limiter at the #2 hole keeps the front pretty light in the deep without sacrificing too much cornering ability.

looks like fun in the powder. wish we got that much here. We used to yrs ago, but our weather has changed for the worse. we still get enough to ride but not 5 feet of fresh stuff.

The REV i had was a rental, its a realy nice ride in the trails but i spend most of my time off trail, the summit REV is probably way better. I was thinking the same as you doopilot, the beaver tail and snowflap needs to be tied up so it can clean out easier.

Was your group at Ardbeg on thurs afternoon...? I was tagging along with some guys that stopped and dropped off a chainsaw we found on the trail. You followed them towards Dunchurch and I went down snakeskin lake. Saw the same group again at the top of 101 having a break, then saw ya in Mag when I stopped for groceries. There was a bunch of doos and a poo at the end. Never thought of it till I looked at your group pic. Anyway the trails were great.....cheers

That may be true, but I bet Danny Boy wasn't even thinking about hoping onto Perms sled. Was he?

And then to rub in what you made him for breakfast, to top it off.

Well, I'm sure you have March 20th already marked on your calendar, so how about I make a trip up that day ;) I like my steak Medium Rare :inlove:

LadyK

Actually Fishie Perms sled was having a slight temp problem on the way back and I had to feed all. Bring up the steaks and I'll cook them up for ya Fishie. best steak you ever had ;) I guarantee it :) The 20th is no good as the kids are back in school and on thursdays my little one doesnt go to school :(
