: F6 Vs Rev 600ho
paidncash 02-09-2003, 06:02 PM We were at the local ATV races today and my brother brought along his REV just to goof off on the lake with the rest of the team Carhartt's. Well as luck would have it someone with an F6 was out playing also. Naturally as soon as my brother saw him he headed strait for him to peck a fight, they talked for a minute and then lined em up at the far end of the lake.
The F6 had a 1.25 track or is it 1 3/8 and my brothers REV only has the 1in. I know it sounds like i'm making excuses but hey traction is where it's at. Anyways the F6 jumped out about 2-3 sleds and they stayed that way for about 3/4 of a mile untill they ran out of lake. They switched sleds and my brother said that it didn't seem to have the same snapy response as his REV, so i asked him why he got beat every time they raced and he said its got to be that the F6 has the better track.
Well the bottom line is that the F6 seems to be as fast as we all thought it would be, it's a nice looking sled too. So there you have it strait from a die-hard DOO man, the F6 won the day.
paidncash 02-09-2003, 06:09 PM oh i forgot both sleds were stock.
clutchman 02-09-2003, 06:16 PM all the firecat series cat sleds are running the fine line of deto, they are leaned out to the gills. you will hear about as many as i see come into the shop sooner or later. i guarantee 04's won't be as fast, unless they change the motor. anyone who owns one and doesn't believe me, run ethanol and don't flip the switch. wait a sec, DON'T do that it will blow on you. ask your self why the switch is there? it is way more accessible than the previous plug in ecu. if you can run the fine line of lean fuel mixture as cat does, and it works, of course you will be faster.
dwhee 02-09-2003, 06:26 PM F-6 ???? :sarcasm:
Is this a midseason thing or a misunderstanding?? :withstupid:
Machzzzz1 02-09-2003, 06:30 PM I was at the lake races this weekend. A guy with a F7 told me that he had just raced a F6 with his F7 and lost.
He did it 2 more times and same story. He then switched sleds with the guy and the F7 won. The F7 owner was 210lb and the F6 owner was 180. So thats the diffrence. So the F6 and F7 are neck to neck.
The REV600HO faired pretty good against the F7. Lost by a sled length in 660 and didnt run the F6.
I lined up with a MXZ 800 and a F7 with the Mach. I got a great launch and held the lead for about 100 feet where the F7 passed me along with the 800, Around the 440 mark the mach started to build up steam and I caught both of them at around 550 and i had a sled lengh on both of them at 660. If the race was a 1000 footer it would have been an emmbarrasment for the F7. Rx-1 lost to that F7 a race before and then blew its chain case so it was out for the day.
So from what ive seen im still convinced that the 809 triple is king of the lake. Now i know for sure becasue i was the driver and put the killing on them.
The only sled that beat me was a clutch, geared and modded 800 XCR making 190hp. He beat me in the 1000 by about 5 sled lengths.
I will say this, The F7 is really a mover. It suprized me how it came back after my killer lauch. It would definitly make a excellent corner to corner sled due to the fact that it makes a ton of midrange.
I will say one thing though. THe F6 and Rev 600 are going to be a good match. I raced a bond 600ho with my Mach and it got the lauch on me and held its own for 300 or so feet.
But when the midrange starts turning into top end the Mach Z is just nuts.
Tracks do make a difference my mom has a 600 ho Xpackage rev with a 1.25 track and my friend had a 600 ho Rev Bond Sled with a 1 inch track and the x package took it because it had way better traction. I was about 2 sled length infront of him.
jwheeler 02-09-2003, 06:35 PM its a mid season thing, I havent seen one of these things in person yet but they probably will be quick, the F5 and F7 turned out to be pretty quick machines.
paidncash 02-09-2003, 06:44 PM I should add that my REV is faster than my brothers by about 5 sleds, my 600ho cranks. I wish i was able to race that F6 with my sled but i wont be ready to ride until next year.
My brother and the guy on the F6 killed a host of other bigger sleds, includeing XC700 and MXZ670HO. It was great to see two little 600's spanking the bigger boys.

Sorry...The F7 runs very fat at WOT.....I dont know where you are getting your information but it's wrong The EGT is in the 1000deg mark......thats far from the edge
paidncash 02-09-2003, 07:04 PM I'm with sled-head; My buddies F7 is rich on top too.
clutchman 02-09-2003, 08:05 PM ok, sorry guys. just reporting what i have worked on. there are many ranges in the throttle that can blow a sled. you can run wide open for miles on any sled with no problem and the instant you let off, pow. i just believe the fuel and timeing maps of the sleds are more towards the lean range.

I was out riding with my buddy who has a 200 700 xc xp and he is stock except for 144 studs. My 98 583 is stock too except of 144 studs. We raced three times from a rolling start like 5-10mph and i took him out of the hole all three times and pulled out to a 2-3 sled lenght lead untill he finally got hooked up and started gaining on me. I couldn't belive that i pulled away like that because i hooked and he spun.
