Got back from up north for a few days where we put on 450 miles on the rev, (which now has approx. 650 miles on it) and put it up on the stand for cleaning and routine maintence and I noted the carbides are shot already!! There wore down to hardly nothing on the front part, the back part of the carbide is in fair shape. Sure I've been down a few roads but no more than normal, with other carbides that held up all season... and the snow was excellent last week in the Gaylord Mi. area where we were............
Anyway I saw another post that said their Rev carbide wear was bad.... how are the rest of you doing with them, and who do you feel makes the best wear bars for precision ski's?? ...thanks DooZ ;)

same thing happened to me, but I installed ski-doo extreme carbides on my rev after the other one dusted away. 6" carbide in the outside and 4" carbide in the inside on a 1/2 bar and 60 degree carbide. Had the same thing on an older model, and after 3000 km they were still in very good condition. The pair costs 192.00$ cdn, but it's woth it.

You should put the longer carbide on the inside of the ski. There is more ski pressure on the inside ski. Were your insides worn more than the outsides. Did any body happen to look. I notice mine were worn more on the inside, then I had a racer tell me to put the longer carbide on the inside. Sounded good to me since mine showed the wear.

Mine are shot in 350 miles but the snow hasnt been great that I have been running really. This is typical from the stock Ski Doo carbides, on my 01 they were completely gone in 500 miles. Ive used Woodys and Ski Doo Extremes so far both of which last longer than the first Ski Doo stockers. I too wonder what some of the longest lasting carbides out are and have been wondering if anyone has tried the longer carbides on the inner ski instead of the outer and what it was like.

No help to you Rev Boys with Precision skis I'm sure, BUT I got 180 miles out of my 4 inch OEMS,, center section was GONE on my left ski. Bought a set of Stud Boys 4 inch, and a little over 500 miles still serviceable.

??? I WAS TOLD TO PUT THE BIGGER 6 IN ON THE OUT SIDE AND THE 4 IN ON THE INSIDE. WOULD THERE NOT BE MORE PRESSURE ON THE OUTSIDE CARBIDE WENE TURNING.??

Thats what we are made to belive. My inside carbides are telling me not to belive everything you here. It's hard to tell. Anytime you put on new carbides you say wow! what a feeling. I've been on some good trails too. Not on a bunch of roads that didn't have much snow. I got 900 miles on my stock ones and I'm getting ready to change them now.

the carbides that come with the new sleds do not last very long ' i have never got no more than 500 miles out of them either

I have close to 3000 miles on the stock carbides. In fair shape, but they could be replaced anytime.

its gotta be a matter of conditions...

I have about 1750 miles and mine look like new...

we have had great snow this year, in 1750 miles I estimate less than a mile of "dry" road riding and most of that would be crossings.

last year, in 1300 miles I bet we rode 50+ miles of road... probably more

I have 3250km's and mine still have lots of bite to them, mind you I only cross roads don't run them. The block from my house to the groomed trails is hard snowpack, and I could set up pilons tight together and do a run through them!!
My gade still has org bars aswell 5500kms!

I agree kenny as i put on over 5000 kliks on my gade last year with the original carbides. If ya road run it will wear any carbides out. I see people wear out a set of good carbides in an afternoon.
