Does anyone have this problem when riding through any powder? It seems that whenever I run through some powder that is deep it wants to slip the belt. It has always done this since I bought it new. I have tried new belts in the past but it doesnt help. I thought about putting some of those mesh screens behind the openings of the hood, thinking maybe this would help. Also, the spindle that belt goes around is a shiny polished finish. I am assuming this is from the belt spinning so much. Any suggestions?

I have the wire screens on my sled--belt still slips every so often. Go to www.gripnripracing.com They have some covers for the front of your sled that are removable--I think that they are held in place with Velcro. I hope that the ones they offer fit you model. I was thinking of trying them out, but I haven't had enough powder around here to worry about it! :p I have seen them used on the Snocross circut for the past few seasons to help reduce belt slippage from the roost of the other sleds. Hope that this helps.

When I first bought my sled, the belt used to slip in deep powder when I was turning hard to the left. I installed hood screens and haven't had a problem since.

It is possible that the clutch could have gotten some oil or greese from the factory or when you dealer set it up.....Now that grease is imbeded into clutch and belt.....What you have to do is take some scotch brite pad that the auto body guys use and some acitone and clean your clutches very good...I like to remove the secondary and take it apart and clean in a circular motion and the primary from the center out and put some pressure into it do a good job........Use a new belt only .....Take that new belt and wash it in warm soapy water and use the scotch brite pad to clean the edges......When the manufacturer makes the belts they use cutting oil when slicing them down.......you have to clean that off for sure..........Put you new belt on and run the sled on a track stand to get the belt broke in...I cant think of what the scotch brite grit is but it is fine
