I went to the gaylord area Yesterday, rode trail 76 up towards Indian River. The trails were the best I have ever seen lower MI, but anyways here is the problem. I have a 02 Viper with 1400 miles & have never had a problem, always runs great but last night around 11:00pm I was running on fumes made it to the gas station (Larrys in Elmira) for a fill up & went inside for around 45min to warm up & eat. I came back out my sled started up first pull & drove 200feet & stalled. I pulled it a few times & it was like it didnt even fire, so I pulled the pulgs checked for spark on all cylinders & that was fine so I put new plugs in and still nothing.

So I took the plugs back out diped the bottom of the plug in my fuel tank & it would fire for a second. So it seems like I am not getting fuel. It was cold & windy so we towed it back to the hotel. This morning I pulled my fuel line from the tank & I am getting good flow there but it was to cold to start taking the air box & carbs off to track the problem. I am wondering if this can be an electrical problem or if anyone has had a problem like this before. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks......

Hi
Sounds like your fuel pump froze up, to to this web site http://www.totallyamaha.com/, the tech page under the engine section shows how to do the fix. It fixed my sled that froze up.

Good Luck

:D I've sealed many of the fuel pump vents where I work. The 03's all have fuel pumps with-out the vents...thank God! In only one instance did I encounter a condition where the entire fuel pump had to be replaced on a Viper.

Thanks guys, this really helps. I told my friend yesterday that I thought it may be the pump but was not aware at all that there has been a promlem with this. It was extremely cold on tuesday night so I sure you guys are right.

I am going to try to find time today to take care of the fix & I let you guys know.

Thanks again......
