Hey guys hoping i could get some help here i had to pull my suspension off my 99 yamaha vmax sx600. Now i am having problems putting it back in this suspension has 3 bolts on each side of the sled. I got the front bolts in on each side (the ones under the footrest). Now i am having problems putting in the middle and rear bolts.I am having problems getting the suspenion high enough to line up with the holes. Is there any special way you are suspose to put this thing back together? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot

I use a racheting strap to pull everything in line. Just hook around the front suspension arm and then around the rear cross shaft.

Also if you can adjust the rear up or down as needed, the right height helps. Also loosen the transfer rod bolts (that hold the shaft together) and this really helps to get the rear bolts in. Do the front bolts first, then middle, then rear. Do not forget to tighten the x-fer rod bolts back up.

Just did mine on my 200 SXr last weekend. It's a one person job if you loosen the lower control rod bolts. Hang the rear of the sled up a couple of feet, start the front bolts lower the sled untill the other bolts line up. I actually did the farthest rear bolts second, then put the sled on its side to get the middle bolts in. It's alot easier to get the middle bolts in if you don't have to hold the middle arm up at the same time you're trying to start the bolts. It took about 20 minutes to install this way by myself. Don't forget to tighten up the control rod bolts when you get done.

hey guys thanks alot for all the information i just got the suspension put back together a couple days ago although it took me 2 people. It sure was a pain in the a** if you are trying to push the suspension up to the bolts. I was able to get the front in before i wrote the post. so then i decided to take mtn's advice and go to the middle then to the rear It was so easy to just tip the sled on the side and bolts lined up and went in with the slighest trouble, so then i put the sled upright again and loosend the x-fer rod bolts put the rear of the sled on my snowmobile stand the the rear bolts lined up without a problem so i tightend all the bolts and the xfer rod bolts, tighted the track and adjusted it thanks for all the info guys
