I was reading on another site that many Firecat owners have already received a $100 gift certificate and that all registered owners will receive them. Has anyone here received one or heard about this. I sure wouldn't mind getting a gift certificate.

I've heard of it but haven't seen it. It is supposed to be in conjunction with that 80:1 oil issue. I heard it was a cert for Cat Cash.

My buddy has 2003 Sno Pro 7 and he received his
in the mail last friday(14) and I think he said it was
$150 total (Canadian). He has had no problems to date.
But they removed oil line air bubbles ,is this caused by
the lower position in the chassis that it sits??His sled was
a late production run and had many things that can be found
in the update kits already in place.I noticed two weeks ago
at the dealers as a F-6 was un-crated that the sled had be
run at the factory(belt resisedue on clutchs).Noticed coolant
tank difference, recoil, and some lines re routed.

Better talk to your dealer if you have not heard of it. They are having some faulty Oil Pumps and are reccomending that you run 80:1 in your Gas Tank. My Brother already got his $100 Cat Cash in the Mail along with a Coupon for a free gallon of Oil.

What he said. Sorry I was beat to the punch. The only think I don't understand is what if your pump is functioning properly, won't that start fouling plugs?

It's not getting ENOUGH Oil is the problem. they are giving te Oil because they need to pre-mix it to make sure it does get enough oil, and the extra 100 to keep all happy.

ArcticZRT600, looking at it now, I have 2 friends with the F7's. One uses a ton of oil and the other doesn't go through much at all. We will be premixing the Gas this weekend for sure. What is really messed up is that they have the Recall but if you brought your sled in they still couldn't fix it because they do not have the Parts yet, they are backordered??? Only the lord knows what cat is thinking there......

You going to be up north this weekend at all? We have a cottage over by Bob's Hideway (Starvation Lake), and will leave Thursday to head up! Hopefully the warm weather keeps some people down state!!!

So considering I have around 900miles on mine do you think i'm safe then or do I have to do this premix thing. Also how long are we going to have to run premix tell they figure out the problem. If it takes to long there going to have to give me alot more then 100.

take it to your dealer---all they do is re-adjust the control arm---make it a little shorter so it give the engine a little more oil. a.c. recomends around 65 to 1 oil ratio. i figured my out to be around 74 to 1 so its goes in on thurs. got my 100 bucks and free oil 2-10-03. good luck

If i owned a F7 I would call arctic cat and tell them to keep the 100bucks and send me a oil pump that works.

But what happens if you have like a thousand or so miles on your motor now, and the oil pump has not been working at 100%. Adding premix now will help, but there could already be premature wear on bearings, etc. maybe some minor scuffing. This could lead to seious damage later on when the warranty runs out. Will they fix that?

Bugsy f-7 is right ,the recall calls for the belly-pan to be removed and the oil pump linkage to be shortened. It takes about 1/2 hour.

My dealer adjusted it in 10 min.

dear arctic cat firecat 700 snowmobile owner
this letter is being sent to all registered owners of 03 f7 snowmobiles to inform them about an upgrade program regarding the f7. our records indicate the you are the owner of an affectedf7.
due to an inconsitency in oil pump delivery that may result in engine overheating, piston sticking, and potential catastrophic engine damage, a service bulletin is being issued for correction of the problem by your authorized cat dealer. until the oil pump has been updated by your dealer please add 80:1 (16OZ PER TEN GALLONS) of premix arctic cat apv injection oil to each tank of gasoline used. by making this adjustment, you SHOULD be able to operate your f7 without the above mentioned problems.

NOTE: this 80:1 mixture is to be used in conjunction with the oil injection system.

we  sincerely apologize for the inconviences that you may have faced with yourf7 snowmobile. we pride ourselves for not only designing and manufacturing world class products ,but also for taking care of our customers. therefore, due to the inconviences caused by the unusual number of service related issues on the 03 f7,by arctic catis enclosing a 100.00 coupon for the purchase of up to 100.00 worth of arctic wear clothing and accessories. we are also enclosing a coupon for one free gallon of apv oil for usse in the suggested pre mix in your f7 snowmobile. the coupons are good at any authorized cat dealer and must be redeemed by march 15,2003.

note the coupons must be presented to your AC DEALER when purchasing your accessories, and oil.

we  feel that the f7 is still the best performance snowmobile available today. even people who have expereienced problems with the f7 have stated that the snowmobile is awesome  . this has been elusive, frustrating problem for AC to detect :sarcasm: . so again, we apoligize for the inconvience and possible riding time lost.

as always AC wishes to maintain the highest level of customer satifaction and is commited to our customers.
We appreciate your patience, cooperation and understanding. We want reassure you that everthing possible is being done to ensure that you have a great snowmobiling experience

I have heard a lot of this update on this site. I just got my f7 about 2 weeks ago, I am assuming it is a late production run. Any chance that the updates were already taken care of?? Also, where can I get a list of the updates as I dont want to end up walkin one day!?!?!? I also have not received anything about the 100$ or the free gallon of oil,,,,,,maybe I should give em more time on that one,,,,,,Thanks in advance
