TRA I am guessing, my 93 Plus was doing that. Ended up being worn slide pucks.

either worn pucks or o-rings in the primary

Turn the idle up a bit it may be idling too slow, the arms dont have enough rpm to hold them against the ramps :D

It's idling at 1800 rpm.

The splines on the end of the inner half get worn and then the outer cap piece rattles on the splines.

All TRA clutches make lots of noise it is normal call the dealer and they will tell you the TRA clutch is NOISY!

Whatever it is its definetly a sign of wear. These clutches aren't noisy when they're new. They usually don't start rattling until you've got a lot of miles on them.

Hey man,

The above replies are all legit, but I had a similar problem with my old 96 FIII and it was a broken stopper plate that is hitting the inner assembly of your drive pulley. It can barely be seen and it makes a hellish loud noise sometimes and then other times (when you're holding it tight!!!) you would not even know it's a problem. It's 10 bucks for the stopper plate, but replacing it is a pain. The primary has to be pulled off and I also believe that the engine has to be moved in order to get at it.

It really sounds like the problem I had before!

Good luck!
