I've used Fast Trac backers for a while on my sleds
without problems. I am about to stud my new
sled and there isn't any torque specs with the new backers.
They used to be 32 INCH lbs. Have they changed?
I can't seem to find it on the web.

watch the stud head going into track, and tighten till it is flush with track.

I have the same backers, about 800 miles now. Like Bigiron said when the head of the stud is flush. Now problems what so ever, not one cracked or bad backer. They also support the stud higher up. I would buy them again.

That turns out to be about 35-40 inch lbs which is what I've done
my other 3 sleds at. These new backers look a little beefier - so
I was questioning if they can be torqued more.
Mine are torqued at 45lbs according to my torque wrench after driving them with my air wrench. The nuts are definately penetrating the backers a bit and they are stiff as could be; 144 1.325" woodys stainless with Fastrac double and single backers(new, beefier, sort of ridged backers)Some of the stud heads are not completely flush with the track. It may be the larger head just does not go in easily or my track was stiff and cold when I studded.Barely noticable, though. I like this setup, no hints of problems with over 1,000 Vt. miles on an 01 800mxzx.
