hello everyone i need to get another pump for my 99 MXZ 600 but i am going to buy a used one. The question is do i need a oil pump from a 99 MXZ 600 or can i get one off of like a 2000 or 2001?? also does it have to be the same cc or can i get one off of like a 700 ???? the dealer says i cant but i have heard otherwise.

The pump must be specifically for the particular machine. The pump arms are different lengths. The different length arms determine how much oil is being used vs throttle position.
