The plugs on my 2003 MXZ 380f are buring medium to dark brown on the tips and dark black around the edges with alot of residue built up around the edges, the plug is also wet around the threads and spacer with a dark black liquid. Does this sound proper or is it not set up right. The owners manual says it is set up for -20 degrees C(-4 degrees F).

id say its not too far off..oil pump might be a touch heavy but if its not fouling out then better too much than too little..make sure your plugs are snug but not to tight when u put them back..Steve

In temperatures above -5 degreesC i can't get it to idle and it is hard to start. I can never get it to start with the first haul when it is warm and i always have to use a bit of throtle to start it, when it is cold out she runs perfect.

I've noticed about the same thing with the plugs, and starting on my '02 500 MXZ. When It's above 25 Farenheight, I shut off my carb heat. That helps the starting when warm. She always starts easier hot or cold when it's colder.
