Just received an answer to "Rough running rev" saying that by turning the air screws outward on the carbs would help with the afterfire problem on rev's. When the air screw is turned out does it allow more air in for the entire throttle position? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question but I have never had to move the air screws on my other sleds.

The other guys will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe on those carbs the screws control fuel thus turning them out will enrichen the idle flow. But I do know that these adjustments will affect all other throttle positions as there is flow from the idle circuit at all slide positions, mind you this is a small amount of change. Hope this helps you :)

This is from my Ski-Doo service manual. It gives you a good idea of when each circuit is effective.

IT all depends on where the screw is.

Rule of thumb.

If the screw is before the slide - it is a pilot "air" screw and turning it out will allow more air at the pilot stage.

If the screw is after the slide - it is a pilot "fuel" screw and turning it out will allow more fuel at the pilot stage.

In is lean......out is rich.

Between 4-5000 rpm, the engine sounds like it has a little bog. Only if you cruising in his range. I have not tried it yet, but intend to when I ride this weekend. Turn in the fuel screw about 1/2 turn to try and clean up the rough spot.

Like I said, I haven't tried it, so I can't speak from experience.

They are fuel screws on the mikuni flatslides. The farther out you can run them the better off you will be. If i remember right they unseat at 5 1/2 turns out.
