Is it the same chassis as your sled?

yea they are a good sled, I had one, it was a 92' 617 very fast, handeld the trials and bumps ok, not as good as th new chassis but it was still a very good trial sled, for that price i dunnno, I got 2 sleds, the 92 and a parts sled for $1300 U.S. so I dunno. but yea the sleds are worth it, I never had any problems with it. hope this helps you

This is going to be the same chassie as what you have know. The motor is a good reliable motor. I had a 89 Mach I and liked it other than the chassie. It was a heavy sled. The C-7 suspension may help it some. I would suggest save your money up and buy something newer!!

Yeah i know. I was looking for a newer mach. Dont have a lot of money. Do the machs go through deep snow good? Do they come with vent covers so snow stays out of the engine compartment? Are they heavy? Reliable? High maintenance?

every sled is heavy when thier stuck, i wouldnt say that they are good in deep snow because the front end likely sits a little low, where in ontario are ya, we dont really get deep snow here unless ya live in the Muskoka region

500Indy: I live in Orillia, ONT. and we get alot of snow here. Just south of the muskoka region. If the mach z isnt that good in deep snow, what else is great going thorugh deep snow in open fields that has lots of power, say a 583,617 or 670 that is a 1994 or older. Thanks for the help. SWRules

Just save your money until you can at least afford an S-chassis sled. Then get yourself a 96 or 97 mxz 500.

Whoa. I dont think i can afford that. what year did the s-chassis come out?? Are the older MXZ's any good?

S chassis came out in 96. the older F chassis sleds were alright, but the S sleds were better. Why buy another PRS chassis? don't you want something newer?

yah but i dont have that much money. I'm looking for an older sled thats great for going through deep snow and has some power that is newer than a 1989.

I don't think the PRS chassis & deep snow should be mentioned in the same sentence. I had a '90 Mach 1 & I wouldn't think of going near deep snow. Ski-doo didn't really have a deep snow sled until the F chassis Summit came out.

The C7 is an improvement over the monoshock setup they had, but the front PRS suspension still sucks compared to other 'doo front ends (limited shock travel made them fade quickly in the bumps).

Try finding a '96 S chassis.

Id like a 1994-1996 mxz with the 470 or bigger. Somthing with more engine power and that goes faster even tho the safari is still good.. :p

Just sold a 90 mach1 for $1500 in December. Ran great, good shape. Great for lake running, trail riding can be a chore cause its real heavy and needs to be thrown around alot in the corners. DEFINITELY NOT FOR DEEP SNOW. Lots of power though, and the 583 is a great engine.

i know this is a doo forum so i know i should not say this ,and it sounds like you want a doo ,but if you don't have a lot of money to spend and want a good older all around sled i recommend a polaris indy .a early 90's indy 500 or something.i know its not as fast as a mach but it will out handle it with ease and its lighter .just a suggestion! ;)
