i figure that this way i will get more of a straight up answer instead of opinions on noise from people. im just curious what people have to say about both silencers and if there is a different one besides HPS or MBRP i would like to know, thanks.

Yes, I tried to get this answererd earlier and want opinions from people who have heard both, cause most people are going to say what they bought as they spend 250.00 and of course it sounds good. I have MBRP and sounds great, but compared to what, stock, sure it's louder but louder than DNYOport,HPS, ????????????????I haven't heard them yet, so who knows, I like my MBRP and I don't like the hps website, as it looks cheap, but that's my opinion.

Folgers

Check out their website, www.outdoorwebrings, and what I am saying is on their Snow Mobile Pipes page (their spelling) they list silencers for a 700 rev and 670 rev, which to my knowledge doesn't exists, so I can't put much faith into their knowledge or I should as they know what's in the future?????????????????????????????? again just my .02 I am by no means against HPS, but I take things like that into consideration, as being in sales, you are judged by how you sell yourself, and to me that website could use some work, or fixing. I can't put much faith into someone who can't spell snowmobile or is selling products for sleds that don't exists, so ask yourself, is this someone you can trust...................

Has anyone heard a dyno port can?

NOT on a rev, but I had one on my 00 700 mxz and sold it to my buddy cause it wasn't loud enough for me, I bought a MBRP RACE can for that sled and there was a BIG difference, almost twice as loud, so depending on what you want, looks are equal and so is quality but on that sled, MBRP was louder

HPS Pipes (http://www.outdoorwebrings.com/hps/pipes.html)I have the HPS on my o2' 800 MXZ and that thing ROCKS. I have spent the past year looking at cans for sleds. Nobody could back up the advertising on horsepower gains except HPS. Bill Cudney tested the cans for them on his dyno as an independent party with nothing to gain. They showed a true gain just under 5hp. The sound is awsome on the 800 and it is not too loud.

Ive owned Dynoport cans and am currently running the HPS Stinger. I have never had the MBRP but have seen and heard them many times.

All allow the engine to breath better, all claim HP gains and all are louder than stock with there own unique sound, and all look quite different.

In my opinion......The HPS and MBRP are the best looking under the hood. A nod to the HPS, its a real peice of work....very sano! Dynoports are kinda bulky and well....ugly in comparison. There welds look like bubblegum. All are about the same weight, so same weight saving from stock.

The Dynoport has a deep throaty sound and is a bit louder than stock. It sound changes dramatically in note when the rave valves open.....a real nice dirty sound.

The HPS and MBRP "trail" cans sound simular and are a bit louder than the Dynoport. HPS and MBRP "trail" cans both sound like a piped tripple or even sort of like a "rice rocket".....more brappy and cool sounding. Every time someone hears my sled at a trail stop , grins and ask's me what do I have under the hood, cause there stock sleds dont sound anywhere as cool.

The MBRP "race" can should without a doubt in my head should only be used for racing purposes. They are WAY LOUD times 10. They are obnoxiously loud. Instead of spending $240.00 on this can go down to the closest muffler shop and have them make a straight pipe for $25.00 instead. It will be just as loud and you will save some money to boot. The race can works great for pizzen off the land owners that give us permision......it also gives the green meanies even more fodder for there anti-snowmobile cause.

I have an HPS on my 700 and think it is great. The sound is different than the MBRP Race. The Race is louder at WOT, but my HPS seems louder with more of a rumble at lower speeds. Everyone asks me what kind of pipe I am running...of course when I tell them it is and HPS silencer, they are like "who the hell is that?". That's alright with me though. As for the website, don't worry about those errors, just give them a call and you will find exactly what you need...they do know their stuff.

I'll be running a "Thing" on mine. Haven't installed it yet, but its sitting on the table. Its a nice looking piece..definatley lighter than stock. Suposedly 10hp gain.. Will see how it runs. I didn't want something "loud", want something that isn't obnoxious. Wanted to drop weight and make some power..
Do you honestly think you are going to get 10hp out of a silencer? Get real! Go check out Precision-performance, their clains are true. 5.96hp gain and thats the best out there.

hehe Ok. And I'm sure you've ran the "thing" and dynoed it, eh? Along w/ all the other ones.. I'm not saying it makes 10hp, thats what I've read/heard. Weather it does or not, it must make more power..enough to justify reclutching. And if the HPS is the "best" out there, why doesn't every body buy theirs. The guy wanted an opinion, I gave him an opinion..always gotta be somebody out there to put the other guy down.. Anyway, if the PP works for you, use it.. And since SNOHO670HO seems to have done extensive testing and knows HPS has the "best" can, might as well go w/ that one. :p
LMAO! If you want to go on sound then speak your opinion. If you want to talk performance then you better back it up with dyno tests. Hear-say is cheap and anyone can claim theirs gives you the most hp, but if its not backed up with dyno tests then they might as well claim 100hp from their can since you will beleive it and buy it. I know for a fact PPP dynoed at 5.96hp gain. Show me a dyno test on any other can thats better than that.
