Wouldn't suprise me. Between the crapy economy and lack of snow here in the US it will do a number on businesses in that field. Plus poo's trailing technology and redesign sleds doesn't help sales and the f7 problems taking a toll on cat. lol oh and these sky high gas prices don't help either. Oh well i hope they both can pull outta these tough times. :(

I heard Polaris cut production down by 20% last year and 30% this year?!!? If true i dont seee how Polaris would be losing a lot of money... THey're gonna clear the inventory and blow us away in 05 and instead of only 2 new models like everyone else came out with...Polaris will bring out like 15! :D

I don't think the F7's have taken a toll on Cat. If anything it has strengthened Cat's brand loyalty!!!!! I ride with 3 F7's. Yes there have been growing pains. But Cat has rolled out the red carpet & taken extremely good care of it's customers!!!! I think they've scored huge points with there customers!

HUGH!! bommie is in financial troubel. they might have had a good year with sleds . but sleds don't make up %10 of their sales. read their fourth quarter reports. they are in a bad way.

I heard that Yami only sold 30% of their field stock this year.
They had a lot of people back out of their spring orders when they found out how much insurance was going to be.

It's been a strange year.
There seems to be alot of very new sleds on the trails, but I know that the local Polaric and Cat dealers have alot of new sleds left on the floor. This spring would be a very good time to buy a 2003.

Anybody wanna loan me some money for an SKS 800 or an F7?

Local Bombi dealer told me that last year in mid Jan. he was completely out of sleds. This year he still has quite a few on the floor now. Even though last year was a lousy winter, sales were good because the year before was a good winter and most people buy early. This winter (lots of snow around here) will probably translate into good sales of '04 sleds.

THe polaris dealer here had 200 sleds and has 15 left. not bad at all . I would be happy with that kind of sales myself.

yamaha builds less than normal amounts of sleds to insure that they will sell most,if not all of their stock.the others consitantly overbuild and this is where i think they lose money.it's not a quality issue at all,it's a numbers game.......... :0:

Polaris's ATV sales are going through the roof. They seem more interested in their ATV segmet than the sleds.(and why not, like all manufacturers, the bottom line is to make money) Heck, Polaris sells more ATV's than all four sled companys combined, sell sleds. For those of you who don't know, all atv manufacturers release their next year models in fall. Polaris had to release an early 04 line because they already sold out the 03's. The rumours are 800efi twin (atv) for the fall release.
