Hi guys, I just started having a problem with my snowmobile, when I press the throttle down from a full start (or a slow speed say, under 10 km/h) and speed up, the snowmobile gives 2 or 3 quick jerks before accelerating, could someone please point out some areas that might be wrong or I could look.
Thanks,

sounds like maybe its flooding itself or conversely, starving for fuel? What sled is it?

I know this sounds stupid, but check your drive belt. I thought I had track troubles, and it turned out the "thumping and jerking" I felt wasn't the track, I had big chunks missing from the inside of the belt.

Lift and support the rear of the machine . Run it with the belt guard off (keep everyone clear) . Observe the clutches, chances are the primary is sticking or belt is slipping. You didn't say how old the belt is. If everything looks good then try to duplicate the problem with a new belt installed. chech all wiring for bad grounds ( run machine in the dark , look for arcing to indicate bad wiring).

Probably a chunked belt.
That's the first place to look.
Also check your track tension, it could be racheting.

thanks guys, I'm pretty sure that is the problem, I see a little chunk out of it. Thanks again.
