: F6 And F7
maddog542k3 03-03-2003, 09:03 PM ok my buddies were just up newyork and they said that the rev 600 killed the f6 by alot. is this true b.c i find it hard to believe. and also there was a f7 and they said that the rev 800 and renage 800 beat that by alot is this true. i heard no stock 800 can touch a f7. also i rode the 800 that he said beat the f7 and it toped out at like 105 i cant see how it beat that f7.
Machzzzz1 03-03-2003, 10:05 PM You heard wrong.
Ive seen Rev 800s and 600HO take F7s in 660 and up.
A lot of people called me a Liar for saying this. But I have no reason to lie about this. IMO i couldnt care less which one of the two win. There both suppost to be ditch bangers.
The F6 can somtimes run real close to the F7. I heard this from a guy that owns both.
Its all about conditions and rider.
this site is crazy. everyone u talk to has seen different things. It depends on the sleds and how they r set up.
I raced my brother in laws F6 with my Rev6 last weekend. The F6 was faster by 4 sled lengths consistantly in a 1/4 mile. It is a very quick machine. I rode it a bit,the sled felt strange at first but I got the hang of it. ;)
BGTRK19472 03-03-2003, 11:02 PM A couple weeks ago on lake Gogebic My kid on his F7 and another guy on a RX1 got beat by what looked to be a 97 or 98 XC700 twin. Of course the way the XC was rapping it had some major mods!!!! SWRules
84EVR 03-04-2003, 08:48 AM Unless your actually able to look under the hood, or you know the person that owns the sled personally, I don't believe a word of any of this nonsense. Heck, a friend of mine has an XCR800. The hood says its an XC500. Hmmmmmm. Sure does sound great for a 500. hehe.
Z-Rider 03-04-2003, 05:55 PM A guy that we ride with has an F7 and a serious performance freak. He went up against a Rev 800 and was to say the least blown away. ???
straycat 03-04-2003, 06:52 PM every body says they have a buddy that has frend that talked
to a guy that ...bla.bla.bla.bla
i will tell it like i seen it.........YES I SEEN IT!!!
i raced 3 rev 800's aganst my stock f-7
we raced 3 time's and i won every time.
but realy......WHO CARES???????
maddog542k3 03-04-2003, 08:29 PM i usually ride with these guys and they have no mods done at all. all the rev 800 has is studs and cluthing done to it. and the 800 renage has nothing but studs. I wasent there when they raced so i wouldent no the truth maybe there just saying that to make themsleves feel better. anyway they r hardcore skidoo. plus they said that the firecat chassie is breaking i find that hard to belive to b.c i never heard of a thing like that.

doopilot 03-04-2003, 09:53 PM F6 and REV 600, F7 and REV 800 have virtually identical power to weight ratios so you could flip a coin for the outcome. As said before, tuning/setup for conditions, holeshot, and proper care will decide the race outcome with these sleds.

ATOMICAT 03-05-2003, 12:31 PM I own a F7 Standard and my friend who I ride with almost every weekend owns an F7 Sno-Pro.
At about 1200 to 1500 miles our F7's had experienced power losses. These weren't readily apparent to us until about 1500 miles. All of a sudden my friend and I noticed there was a major flat spot at high speeds. Those losses were due to three things, primarily. (We only had two of those adjusted out.)
The F7 has so much power that even when it's starting to lose performance while trail riding after miles and miles of riding the rider adjusts. All of a sudden we noticed the top end seemed flat and we were beat by an XC600 in a drag race on a lake. Two weeks earlier my friend spanked ZRT800's (some mods on one of them), a TCat and various other Doo's of the 670HO and 700 cc variety.
There is NO WAY an 800 twin or triple could beat us in a drag race earlier. So what was the deal.
1. Our power valves were out of adjustment. The cables need to be adjusted. The F7's still rocked enough (up to 80) on the trail, but they weren't as snappy or fast.
2. The throttle cables stretched. My friends F7 had 5 credit cards worth of freeplay. My sled had 10 credit cards worth of freeplay. So we couldn't do a WOT pull because the throttle body wouldn't open up all the way.
3. Our power valves undoubledly need cleaning. Why? Because our sleds have 2100 miles on them by now. And I could only hit 100 (Not the 116 to 120 that many report as top speed) on a lake. This is probably due to dirty valves.
We fixed the first two problems, but haven't cleaned the valves yet. The sleds rocked. If you see any 800, 700 or 600 beat an F7, it's only because that F7 wasn't maintained and is out of adjustment. When they are newer or have had the proper maintainance, only 900 cc's or more need apply to compete.
maddog542k3 03-05-2003, 08:15 PM ok thanks i just put this on firecat.info and they said the same thing the only way the f7 is going to get beat by a 600,700, or 800 is if it isent working properily
