From Skidoo website
For 2004, we're building all liquid-cooled MX Z, Summit, and new GSX sleds on the revolutionary REV platform.

I think this is short sighted on their part as I'm sure not everyone is sold on the merits of the REV platform. I for one like the look of the previous body styling.

Is it just me or can anyone tell a 2004 MXZ from a Renagade or Summitt at 60 mph, or do you have to roll it over and inspect the track?

I want to get the 800 HO in the MXZ X to have as a companion to my 7c. Unfortunately, I have a problem with that snowcross windshield. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to the low profile Blair model's "standard" windshield, but it sure would be nice to have a choice. I suspect that the new X has handlebar risers, etc. that would make a retrofit of the standard windshield a real pain in the ###, if not impossible. Do the new models have the Blair chaincase and 10 tooth track driver as well?

This is how they describe the Legend (ZX chassis) "For enjoying good old winter fun the Legend is the perfect ride. This recreational snowmobile offers a conventional riding position, classic styling, loads of convenience features and a variety of cleaner engines to choose from."

Alscool, I couldn't agree w/ you more. We'll see how the lineups of the other makes look like in a couple of model years. If Ski-doo abandons the "conventional" seating position across the board except for utility sleds & the other makes offer them, you'll see people jump ship.

I'll be ordering a Legend Sport w/ the 600SDI. Probably swap the hood & put the '03 MXZ graphics on it. I'm not too crazy about the tacky looking '57 Chevy chrome addons.

Rather than call the one up ZX chassis a Legend, they should have brought back the "Formula Z" name.

Ski Doo's desicion to move most of the line up to REV chassies makes me think that it must be less expensive to manufacture. Any ideas?

The reasoning is that The REV is better then anyother sled made period. It out handles, out performs, and is the most comfortable sled to ride.

My dealer cant even get ride of his 03 ZX chassis.

Yes it is no dought cheaper to only manufactor one chassis. But IMO skidoo will have a few late released which will be in a diffrent chassis.

For those of you that dont like the REV. Please write back a reason. There is nothing ive not seen this sled do better.

I can only understand why people with leg problems might not like it. But ive found that after a 1000km on the rev. Your legs get used to it. and your just better off at the end of the day.

running across the lake wfo,I take the zx you have the rev,who is going to win top end?now if your dealer had new zx's with 809's I bet they would not be there now.after seeing the price of the new rev mxz's I think doo will have a reality check, they are priced as high as mach z's were.do you think they will sell a bunch of them at those prices?I do not.

Dooman. Belive it or not. But the revs fly over lakes.

600ho will get 160 anyday of the week but there are a few saying over 170 and 180.

And the 800 Revs for this year are faster then the 800zx period.

I dont know why. But the rev is awsome fast on a lake.

That is where the 809 should be stuffed in. But ill take it in a ZX. :D

How about a 60 percent Mountain slope in Powder....Doo you think the Rev can climb it....??? I wonder, will stick with my 800ho HighMark 151 track. We will see what we see next year... :D

Missing from the Ski-doo lineup, is a 136"REV-X (Renegade is too narrow)

Also MIA -- 800 SDI in the REV.

Wha's up with that?

After riding the REV for my first time yesterday (thanks to Factory Recreation Midland ON), I'm TOTALLY sold! It took me less than 5 seconds for me to be 100% comfortable on it -- felt like the machine I've been waiting for for the last 30+ years of riding sleds!

I should mention, that the 600 felt slow to me though (I thought it would be faster than my '00 700 136")...guess I'll have to go with an 800 -- insurance be damned!

I think they are moving to the REV chassis because thats what everybody wants, look at the sales. Why would you come out with a new and revolutionary product and not exploit it to the max. I know not everybody likes the new REV but I think you will see the other manufacturers leaning their new development more towards something like the REV because it was a great idea that worked. I am totally drooling over the new GSX, although I think they could have spent a litttle more time on the mirrors.

Ski-Doo is going to the REV because it outsold the rest of their line in 2003.
I will be buying a MXZ800REV Adrenaline in blk/yel.
