hey guys,

buddy of mine just called me and wants to head north tonight and do nothing but lake running all day tomorrow. We havent rode together for sometime but I know he probalby has something up his sleeve as last time we were out on the lakes (last year) I easily showed he and his 01 XC700 some serious tailflap (im riding a 01 700X).

Judging by his eagerness to rip up the lakes tomorrow I have a feeling he has something in store for me so I need to get my SC-10 II setup for top end. I'm studded with 192 gold diggers so I can sacrifice a bit of hookup.

What is the best position for the limiter straps? and what should be done with the center shock? stiffen it up or loosen it off? and should I leave the rear blocks coupled or uncoupled?

and how much track sag from the bottom of the suspension rails do you feel is safe with the amount of studs im running?
thanks guys

I'd stiffen that front skid shock a little, and make sure you haven't got too much ski pre load. As long as there is some slack in your limiter when your sittin on it you should be set ok....

have fun.

OK Here goes: Limiter strap needs to let out to 2nd from last hole. (lengthen it) Up the preload on the center shock. DO NOT couple the rear. Coupling reduces weight transfer! Also, set the rear torsion springs to the lightest setting. This will hook up like velcro! Stinks in the trails though. I am a doo rider but I do know if you're buddy gets that polaris hooked up right it will give you a good run. Put an 1.25 track on it and it'l really hook up.

Actually Frostyz has the right set up for drags, but for top speed where traction is not a concern youd want, limiter pulled up short, loosen front spring to reduce approach angle of track to the front rail, tighten up the rear springs to keep as much weight on the skiis as possible, also lowering the front of the sled with shorter shocks and springs or stapping it down is usually good for a couple of mph on top.I tried it both ways last weekend and chained down was noticiblly faster on top end.Oh and 3 coats of wax.
