: Overheating Rev 800!

Last weekend I was out riding in about 35 - 40 degree weather and the temperature light kept coming on. The snow was kind of hard and icy in the moring but as the morning progressed it was getting more and more loose, so the heat exchangers were getting plenty of snow. I was also riding with a bunch of other people (none with Ski-Doo's), and none of them were having any issues.
After having to stop around 8+ times in two hours, I was calling it a day and heading home. That is when the problem cleared up. The whole ride back (30+ miles) the light never came back on. What I don't understand is that it was warmer in the afternoon then it was in the morning when the light kept coming on.

I guess what I am looking for is, has anyone else seen or had this problem with their REV? I hope that it was just a fluke, but I'm having it looked at anyway, just to make sure it doesn't ruin what is left of this riding season.

Also, does anyone know of any recalls on the REV suspension?

A guy that rides in our group has an REV 800 x. When we ride on hard packed icy trails or roads his temp light comes on. More so when its was warm then it gets real cold and the trail surface is hard packed ice.

He doesn't have picks. All the rest of our sleds are picked and I believe throw more ice chips at the heat exchanges.

We have a 600 with no problems.

Why do you ask about the suspension?

dip it off to the side of the trail and throw some snow up there! driven slow ie. in a group or in general on hard pack is what i bet it was!
take it for a dip to cool her off!

The reason I asked about the recall, was a guy I spoke with on Saturday said that he has a friend with the same exact machine and he just had recall work done on a bushing in the suspension. I had never received anything regarding this and was curious if it was true.

I haven't heard anything either. I, too would like to know.

I agree with folgers and burny_30.I had the same problem with the same sled and I kept having to go off the trail and "reload' the exchangers with snow.VERY IRRITATING.

I may be wrong, but the reason it didn't come on as often when it was warmer was the trails softened up a bit so more snow was able to get thrown up to the exchangers.

I do not think anything is wrong with your sled.the REVs are just more sensative to poor trail conditions.Try some ice pics and probably kill 2 birds with one stone.
