: Ordering Rev's!
Tantrum 03-14-2003, 04:25 PM Im ordering 2 REV's tomorrow. Ive pretty much decided on the Adrenalin package, 600HO SDI, electric start.
The 1.25 track is still in question. Most of my riding is done on groomed trails in the northeast. Is this track worth it. Does it effect studding later on, dealer suggested waiting until track stretches (Ive heard varied opinoins)? Is there any other options I should know or think about. Ive never riden the REV but the seating position just makes sense to me so Im banking BIG that Im going to love this machine.
skidont 03-14-2003, 04:38 PM I know you will love the rev and if i could sell my 700 adrenaline i would have a rev too. Put more miles on rev than my own. Ski-doo is offering a 30 minute test ride from your nearest dealer IF you still have snow
BLADEGUY 03-14-2003, 06:18 PM 1.25" track is great if you ride where there is ample snow or like to go off into the powder occaisionally. You can stud the track, but probably best just to do 96 down the middle. . However, if you ride primarily on really hard packed snow or ice you will get more traction from lots of studs and a shorter paddle.
REV800X 03-14-2003, 06:31 PM I'm in NH and I have been riding my dads 600HO the last couple of weeks as I sold my machz to make way for my new rev, but anyway I can tell you the 1.25 w/96 studs in the middle are a great combination. I can beat a ton of sleds out of the hole including my buddies machz with 192 studs so I will be ordering my rev with the 1.25.
jaedymack 03-14-2003, 06:54 PM The tracks dont stretch as much if at all anymore like they use to. Get the 1.25 track. according to the Reps at the ski doo show studding isn't a problem anymore. The tunnel is a new design since the 03 B.M. The rolled chain case give you all the clearance youn need. All you have to buy is the 2 plastic strip tunnel protectors and are about $40 for both. I'm ordering the 800 ho x package Monday :inlove: :hallo1:
snokid 600 03-14-2003, 10:50 PM I was going to order a new Rev but my 99 mxz decided that it wanted to blow. $1,000 dollars in damage :( . But anyway I would go with a 1.25 " track with studs down the middle. stay away from putting studs in the side of the track, its to hard on the track. I use 96 down the center, and it works great. Make sure that you get RER, this comes in handy. :D

They are great sleds. My dad is gonna order a Ski-Doo 600 HO SDI Renegade. The 600 Ho's are great engines.

Waiting on the studs but am planning on adding them.
idooski 03-17-2003, 02:33 PM Tantrum...What did you end up paying?
Tantrum 03-17-2003, 02:59 PM Actually
1) dont have a final price yet
2) not fair to compare....why..???
I own a piece of property that is attached to the dealer. Because he is packed to the gils with race trailers ect., he uses my lot for parking and test riding MX bikes. The sales manager is clearing with the owner for a cost plus deal....so it's not your typical deal.
MXZonly 03-17-2003, 04:39 PM You should have gotten the X for yourself and the adrenaline for the lady. just my opinion
Im on my third X in 3 years now.
idooski 03-17-2003, 05:24 PM I can get the same deal. You see, we all have our connections. I was just curious as I haven't gone to bother him yet. No big deal. Just thought I'd ask.
Tantrum 03-17-2003, 05:47 PM idooski,
Im not holding out on you I really dont know yet, We really do have the same deal ;)
MXZonly,
I cant believe I didnt get the wamper. Its the first time I havent gottem the biggest possible motor available in anything, and usually modify from there... :p
My buddy has both the 600 and the 800 and he said the 600 was just as quick in the trail and the reduced weight felt better (not even sure of the weight difference). He said until you had them above 80 the 600 held its own. That with the SDI option is what made me go with the 6.
If the 800 came with the SDI I would have bit. Well we will see what happens in 2 years.
idooski 03-17-2003, 05:56 PM I rode my wife's 600 REV quite a bit this year (Problems with the MXZ 800 X) and I am having a hard time justifying an 800 for next time. The only thing lacking on the 600 between the two engines is the torque at the bottom end. Other than that, I can't see a reason to buy an 800. But then, I like to have my arms almost ripped off when I pin it. :D
