was up northern maine again this weekend and the sled started to start hard .so i had a gut feeling the reeds were damaged but i didnt have a spare set on the sled , well i did'nt make it to my destination . the reeds came apart in good shape , i knew something was gonna happen cause the gauges went to high and the reeds sucked up another set of cyliders and piston . this is the second sled those reeds have done radical damage to my machines and it will never happen again . i had replaced the petals twice this season already with a total of 2700 miles

i had the 2's i understand the 3's have the petal protecter on them but the reeds look like they are being pushed inside the cage along with the damage done from hitting the case,i would not , never ,ever put in a moto tassanari petal in my machines ..................,my 96 mach z has 6000 miles on the stockers they are probably a litte weak but they look mint, i bet a spacer on the stock cage get's better performance than you think

doo900: What engine, and did the petals break and go through or did it seize? Dino :( :(

the petals wore from hitting the case and the cause a hard to start motor, also leaning it out, in my case the petals broke while full throttle and she burnt the piston and the ring bent over and started chewing , i got a hole on the side of mag piston you can put a dime in. dino i got a 02 800 that is now a 900 crank shop top end , no real problems with the kit ran it for 2700 miles wfo but had replaced the petals at 1200 miles , it is my own fault for not changing them again but wtf why do i want to put them in again? NEVER i will try to get the pictures on the computer as soon as i figure out howto do it

This is the first I have heard of this. Do you think the 900 kit is bending the reeds just a little farther then the 800 would, causing them to fail? It is a 12.5 % increase in displacement and in theory the same increase in air flow. This means higher air velocity and or reeds that are bent further as a result of the larger air volume.

i don't think the air velosity has anything to do with it , it happened on my 97 mach 1 also , that just ate the bearing on the crank. the only reason i feel that the older v force don't hold up is that every time i use them they screw something up , plain and simple. tassanari put that petal protecter on the 3's for a reason!!!!!!!1

Never heard of this problem. I have 3500 on a set of 2's. Guess I will pull them out this summer and inspect. If they are bad I will put the stock one's back in as I seen NO difference in performance whats so ever. WASTE of money for a STOCK sled.
