Does anyone use a communicator with the Skidoo modular helmet? I'm looking at buying one (the helmet), I'm just not sure about attaching the mike inside that breath deflector.

One of the people I ride with has mounted a communicator in his. It took him a while to do it because you have to cut a hole in the breath deflector but it works fine. He just told me to take my time, I am also looking to get a communicator to go along with the Helmet. Oh the only thing he has to do is when taking the helmet off he must always remove the side oppisite the communicator.

I use a communicator with my modular. I've punched a small hole in mine (used a track drill) and stuck the mic through it. It works OK but I've also used it without putting it through the hole. This way seems to work better. The closer the mic is to your mouth the better it sounds and with just putting it under the mask helps keep it close to your mouth.

i use the collett 49 with my helment i didnt put a hole in mask just put it under the mask and it works great and also puttting it under mask the mike stays right at your lips. :D and the mask still seals good. :D

Thanks guys. I picked up the helmet on Tuesday, took it for a short ride. I think I'm really going to like the helmet, but I think that punching a hole in the breath deflector would make it less effective. I'm glad to hear that you can use it without puting a hole in it.

If you go to the Collett web site, http://www.collettcommunicators.com/ , they have instructions on how to install in a modular helmet. I did it with mine, when I was using a Communicator and it worked fine.
