Just got of the lake at +9C and I still put my speedo on my T-Cat to 6 Oclock. I went out eariler this morning at +1C (not much lubrication) and put it past 6 oclock. :D :D
Theres nothing like going 120 mph at +9C on a sunny afternoon. :p :p
I opened the hood after 30 solid miles and I could still put my hands on the heads. I remember the old days with my free air ElTigre 5000 and you could maybe do 5 miles or so at this temp before the foam started melting off the hood.
This T-Cat is one incredible machine!
I just love speed :inlove:

1greenmachine,,
The lake is just a little north of you, Half the lake is in Minnesota and half is in Ontario/Manitoba.
Not much snow left, the lake is the only place to go
Just enough lube on top :D :D

Feelthethunder,, The kind of riding you do is exactly what i like to do :inlove: :inlove: High Speed Touring!!!!!! only i don't hardly get to do it down here. lakes always get drifts on them, and of course we are only supposed to to >> ahem<< 50 mph  I have followed most of what you tried to make your Tcat go fast, since alot of it applies to my sleds :p on a sad note,, ??? i just put both of mine away for the summer today

HP&Torque,,
I just thought I would let you know I have my complete BM clutch kit in and the 25/38 gears. On Sunday I put the speedo quite a ways past 6 oclock so I am thinking somewhere around 123-125 mph. The clutches still do not shift all the way out but almost.
One thing I have learned with all my clutching and gearing is that I can go just as fast on hardpacked snow with either the 25/38 or the stock 24/39. Like Auggie says, with stock gearing I should be doing 126 mph fully shifted out. When I gear taller the clutches simply do not shift out as much thus not changing my overall ratio. All these people that say a T-Cat will pull the taller gears haven't tried. They might on ice but not a hardpacked trail which is what I am mostly riding on. To run the taller gears sucessfully you have to increase your horsepower.
I am going to put my 24/39 back in for this weekend, it's supposed to get cold here -12C lows -1C highs. I want to see if I can still get these speeds with the stock gearing on almost pure ice and not change anything else. I think I will be able to but my lake will be solid frozen snow/ice and there won't be much lube. The T-Cat is great on sliders but I am more worried about some ice hitting the heat exchangers.
I cannot believe it did not overheat last Sunday, I waited until it warmed up to about 0C and then did my runs but barely anything was dripping from my heat exchangers and still no overheating. I think the air going through at these speeds help keep it's cool. :p :p
I will keep you posted :D :D

FeelTheThunder - You need a GPS so you can check your speed a bit more scientifically, lol.
