Kind of a bad year for speed running on the lakes this year.I was anxious to try out the mods on my 670 this year.By the time I got it sorted out there was too much snow on the lakes for any big top end speeds.Every weekend we just seemed to get more and more snow.I was waiting for a bit of a thaw but I'm afraid that is it for this year.Lots of rain in the forcast and warm temps I don't think I'll be going on anymore lakes this year.

Very true oldyellar,
with the exception of where all teh traffic is the lakes have either had lots of snow and drifts on them, or they've been slushy all winter long. Certainly not good for high speed running.

This is my first winter in my new place right on the lake and I kept thinking that it would be great for testing, but the conditions were never really good for it all winter.

First, there was a good bit of snow, with no drifts, but it was too damn cold to check plugs out on the lake unless you were broke down.

Then it warmed up, but the lake was full of drifts and humps.

Now it's slush. Oh well, maybe next year....

On Sunday when I drove from Apsley to Huntsville, any of the lakes I passed looked like more ice than snow. A good way to burn up a set of sliders.

Not great for speed runs, but it was an excellent winter for staked lakes. There were very few that I came across that weren't staked. Much better than last season...
