Hey, I've always wondered, what ditch banging means, and what powervalves do and how they work, and what boring is and how it works?
Thanks.

Ill be corrected if im wrong....

Ditchbanging = Riding ditches filled with drifted snow giving you and your sled a workout as you attempt no to bury yourself in a 6 foot drift and have people giggle at you driving by while you burn 2000 calories trying to dig your sled out only to do it again 300 feet down from the last dig.

Powervalves = Exhaust valves used to regulate back pressure to maintain maximum torque throughout powerband..usually above 6000 rpm.

Boring = Enlarging your cylinders in order to allow for larger pistons and or rings enlarging your displacement of your engine and gaining horsepower. IE = 670cc bored out 60 thousands of an inch will give you a new engine displacement of approx 740cc.

Hope that is helpful and accurate Steve

Good explanation Rottie. :) Ya gotta have the proper setup if you want to run DEEP ditches and not get stuck all the time

Around here I tend to spend my days ditch bangin. While it can include what Rottie said to me it also means I get to perform my best Blair Morgan impersonation when I launch off of driveway or road approaches.
Further too the power valves. They are basically used to make the engine actually feel like two engines. With the valves closed you have to some extend a restricted exaust outlet that allows the engine to build more torgue in the bottom end. However normally the engine would not be any good at higher rpm's due to this restriction. Thats when the valves open. This can be accomplished by exaust pressure, cable and this can also be done electronically. This allows the engine to breath more allowing more power at higher rpm's. A powervalved engine will almost always make more power than a non powervalved engine of the same size. A side benifit is also increased fuel milage.
