What would you buy? A 04 ZR900 Snopro with the new, first year direct drive. Firecat was new and look at the problems it had. Or a 03 ZR900 Snopro?

I don't know what I would get if I were you. I really love my 2003 ZR 9 sno pro.....it has been flawless for 3200 miles. The sled handles awesome and has all kinds of power. I have about $1400.00 worth of mods done to it (clutching, power breather, v-force 3 reeds, D&D single pipe, MPRP can, Woody's dooley runners and a few other goodies)and it works awesome. The 2004 will work just as good if not better. The direct drive?????????. I think I would give it a year before I got one. It may last during testing and R&D but riding 3000 miles is different. Also, if I got a 2004 ZR 900, I would get carbs instead of efi. I like carbs.....I know how they work and I can take them apart in the woods if there is ever a problem. Cats efi is awesome but I still like the carbs better. Once you get them dialed in good, it takes quite a temp. rise or drop to effect them. The 2004 decals on the ZR 9 are gross! By far the worst looking ZR in a while. They would be the first thing I would change on it......a decal shop can make you a set of decals for around $100.00. Anyways man, these are just my opinions! Good luck and let us know what you get for a new sled. Take care!

I have a 03 F7 sno pro and I'm sick of the problems. I just picked up a 03 ZR900 sno pro instead of the new diect drive. I want to see how the direct drive handles the power of the 900 plus I have too much invested in gears and helixes now to switch.

zr800cc, you can't go wrong. Pull the blocks out of the skid, lean back, and HANG ON !!!! :D You won't regret it. Best midrange in the business. :hallo1:
