Good Hockey! Detroit won't go away either, looks like the best series so far.

sawman,
i've heard that the fans in detroit are questioning curtis joseph.

That is right! The head office thinks all they have to do is put a washed up goalie in the net who hasn't won a cup yet and they will win.

I have four Detroit boys in in pool, I hope it goes seven and Detroit advances

Some guy I never met before last night at a local get together told me the same thing!

If Detroit looses this series it won't be Joseph's falt. Not that i'm a Joseph fan i'm not. Detroits lack of scoring is what is killing them not to mention hot goal tending. I like to see under dogs win but the wings have been here before. Next game will tell the story.

The Ducks had virtually the same record over the second half of the season as the Wings.

It has been a good series so far. With Detroit putting about 100 shots in 2 games towards the net, Giguere has done a great job in goal for Anaheim.

I just wish Detroit wasn't in this freakin' conference for the simple fact that our away games are on so late at night :cussing: (and on a 'school night' too  )

Joseph will come up big in the clutch. Detroit doesnt need to worry about goaltending, just the other side of things.

I hope he does, our offense is getting the shots, they just need to put it between the pipes.

So far it has been a game of goalies ;)

detroit is playing to win on talent and not hard work.they'll figure it out just like last year.

Dosn't look good for the wings. they have to figure out something fast or hope that a couple of more shots will have Giguere shell shocked.four goals in three games must be frustrating, but if the puck starts going in anything could happen. might even go six.

I am sorry but Detroit had the lead in the first two games and joseph let in soft goals in both to lose it. I have to ask , why is he there if not to stop the puck. He is a career playoff choker.

Why did Quinn go with Brodeur in the Olympics? Again, we found out last night. There are good goalies, and there are great goalies, and Joseph falls into the first catagory. Couldn't make the pressure saves when vital!!
Wouldn't have been worth the money if he stayed in TO. Go Belfour!

paul yarek

cory,
belfour with 75 shots blasted at him last night. i never seen the first two philly goals but i heard those were none for belfour to be proud of. so i guess the rest of the game was a lesson for him. still though what is with the rest of the buds are they afraid to shoot the puck in case they miss the net ? walter gretzky said that nobody missed the net more then wayne.

Yeah Paul, the first two were not great goals. But he held his team in there for three overtime periods and gave them a chance to win.
They really missed Mogilny, and Nolan has to be hurt, cause he is just not aggressive as usual.
Joseph is a poster boy who has never come through in the clutch, and Belfour has a history of issues, was considered washed up and proved everyone wrong. I always loved an under-dog!!

Cujo has come through in the clutch when he played for Edmonton, you can't win if your offence does'nt score.Look at Salo stops the shots but if you got no d or off you will lose the game.

I heard that every goal anaheim scored was over CUJO's right shoulder. Or a high percent of goals. That is CUJO's weak spot and The Duckd knew it.

when scotty bowman pulled the pin last year i knew the detroit red wings were in for a challenging season to come. scotty is an icon and everyone of those players on that team is a superstar that need more more than a regular coach. scotty knows what superstars are capable of and can guide it into success, without that you have a team that consists of independant players.

the red wings are a team of great depth from top to bottom and will restructure from within.

It's gonna take them a season or 2 to get used to the new coaching styles. It doesn't help when your team captain is off and your goalie sucks.

Rollo D. Motoski

That team is so old, they may not have a season or two left.
As for Cujo, he has always played better on teams that allow more shots. Thrives on beinbg the underdog, which the wings are definitely not. Just MHO.

Several years ago I took a Coaching course led by former NHL coach
Dave Chambers. A fascinating and talkative man (wrote several excellent coaching books) he said the greatest challenge faced by him as a NHL coach was dealing with "EGO's"!!!, and trying to get players respect. Perhaps the new Wings coach just couldn't over-come the incredible payroll?
If Cujo made the big saves in Edmonton then how come he still has no cup ring? Think he's a great person and family man, but facts are facts.

Someone emailed me that pic tonight, a few minutes later they even showed it on the local news  :D

It sucked getting whipped by Anaheim, but that is what happens when you don't flip the puck above the goalies pads http://mywebpages.comcast.net/00gmc/images/fsc/smilies/windowlicker.gif

What do ya think the Wings will look like next season? Will the Captain be back for his 20th season? Will Federov be back? We all know #20 is gone. Maybe Legace will start next year.
