Im wondering what kind of performance gain's i can expect by installing an aftermarket pipe,Reeds and powerbreather in my 03 ZR9.Are these Mods worth the money, and what kind of luck have rider's had after they installed them.

Have a look at this website [www.livingstonsarcticcat.com] click on serviceshop and go down to the bottom of the page, they did some testing on the zr-900. They tested pipes [singles-twins] reeds, and a number of other combo's.

Fastcat, I'm running powerbreather [gutted airbox], boysen reeds, D&D clutching. I did'nt jet up to 440's like they said because of my elevation [0-2000ft]. I was happy with the sled's performance, the first thing I noticed was that you have to pull the block's out to really get a good holeshot, but the trade off is you lose some ride quality in the trails without the coupling. D&D,SLP,SPEEDWERX all have good rep's. I picked D&D, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of these shop's.

I have added the following to my zr900 speedwerx monoblock head and pipe and clutching. v-force reeds (2's) powerbreather. I am pretty sure i went with 450 jets. Never fouled a plug. I also added a digitron e.g.t just to make sure I knew what temp it burned down at if it was going to happen. never did ran awesome all year, puts the hurt on my brothers zr800 really bad. I left the blocks in though. Oh I also added a hot dogger (LOL) but haven't really tried it out yet. The sppedwerx pipe looks awesome as it is ceramic coated so you don't have to worry about rust, I haul mine inside anyways. Kevin
