: Snowmobile Trailer Covers
FZ700 05-06-2003, 07:01 AM I have seen trailers with canvas covers on them, does anyone know who sells them?
You would think that they would be lighter than the fiber glass ones?
If anyone knows, I would appreciate some info.
Thanks

Royal distributing in Canada, pro-tec trailer cover, $160 cdn per sled.
I had thought about doing this but my trailer wasn't the best, only an 8x8 so I bought a double enclosed instead. With the canvas covers on the trailer you still need to use a sled cover under that. So if you add it up $1200 trailer, $160 canvas cover per sled, $200 sled cover. You would be looking at about $2000 cdn tied up in a trailer, when $2500 -3000 would get you an enclosed.
Just giving you ideas. Good luck.
FZ700 05-06-2003, 09:33 PM jaws, the cover that I had seen looked like a enclosed trailer. You would drive right up in there and drop the back cover. The front looked like it would raise up, so that you could drive out the front.
Thanks for the input.

Ahh, I see. I have seen those around, but not too many. Let me do some diggen to see if I can find a website, I sit infront of a computer all day so I've got lots of time to surf. I like your idea of the canvas cover a lot better then the one I came up with.
I'll get back to you if I find anything. :)
Found something that might interest you.

These actually look pretty good, I'd imagine that they are lighter then fiberglass.
FZ700 05-08-2003, 05:58 AM Jaws, Thanks alot. That is exactly what I'm looking for. :D
I think that is the ticket. Load the sleds and go. It gets old putting the covers on all the time.
Thanks

I am trying to get the name of the fiberglass units you put on the trailer and is bolted down.
I know it is abbrev. STS but I don't kow what is stands for. The power company around here use them because you can store the sled in them off season and still have your trailer for use after. I think it stands for something like Snowmobile travelling system. I'm not sure.
Good Luck

Riley 05-09-2003, 07:34 AM FZ700 I have one of those soft top covers from Toasters. I have had it for about 5 years. It has held up very well. It is nice to load the sleds and not have to put a cover on them. Sure saves on the sleds. The only bad part is it pulls like a parachute when you get into the big winds. Riley

darrylthe newf you might like this page. all about us crazy newf sledders. LOL
PS: be careful if you have a high block riser and bar hooks. we drove a set of hooks out through the side when we tried to close it on a 2002 MXZ -X with a 6" riser and bar hooks.
Darrylthenewf 05-10-2003, 08:13 AM Hey Fuzzy!
Was that you guys at Rapid Power Sports last week? I thought I saw the big Ford and enclosed trailer there.
I think it was tuesday.
Fuzzy 05-10-2003, 09:31 AM if it has Sled headz stickers all over it it was Mental Mike. I never got a chance to go out . Spent the day helping another one of the guys try and find his Morgan at the bottom of octagon pond.
Darrylthenewf 05-10-2003, 10:56 AM It was the SLED-HEADZ truck I saw. So did ya have a good winter over on the avalon?
We had one excellent season here in Stephenville. Most snow we ever had in years. Never had much time to sled though. But I will make up for that next year.
Fuzzy 05-10-2003, 03:25 PM yeah we had a good season for snow. guys started ridin in early dec . but our spring was short. had too much rain and then cold. snow was too hard in the evening. but there was lots of water to play in . I just put my sled in for a checkup. I think one more water event before she goes away . mabye golden sands on the burin pen ..
FZ700 05-12-2003, 06:02 AM Riley. Thanks for the info. It looks like a well built system, and easy to install. I'm going to check them out.
Fuzzy, I have bar risers so it probably would not work. Also, that system looks loike it's restricted to only sleds.
Thanks for the info and feed back.
